You're Dream Adult Swim Action Block

    Like This Thread!

What is your dream Adult Swim Action block? First my Adult Swim Action block would be 4 hours long(taking the 10:00, and 10:30 slot). Here is my list:

    10:00- Inu-Yasha
    10:30- El Hazard(both the OAV's and T.V. Series)
    11:00- Yu Yu Hakusho
    11:30- Trigun
    12:00- Neon Genesis Evangelion
    12:30- Z Gundam
    1:00- Gundam Wing(Uncut Version
    1:30- Cowboy Bebop

That's it so far. Maybe when Neon Genesis Evangelion or Trigun is over, I should replace it with Hellsing and Berserk?ROFLMAO

    My dream (and semi-realistic) block...

    11:00 - Yu Yu Hakusho
11:30 - Turn A Gundam (I know it's an alternate universe, but the general mood of the show fits better with ASA than Toonami.)
    12:00 - Trigun
12:30 - Hellsing (Okay, a Cartoon Network friendly version of this show would be about two minutes long. Still, I can dream...)
1:00 - Lain (Maybe this is a little too freaky...)
    1:30 - Cowboy Bebop

    If ASA was expanded...

    10:00 - Yu Yu Hakusho
    10:30 - Turn A Gundam
    11:00 - Trigun
11:30 - Yu-Gi-Oh (I'm talking the 26 episode series, not the one they show on Kids WB.)
12:00 - Neon Genesis Evangelion (As much as I would like to see this on TV, it's not going to happen.)
    12:30 - Hellsing
    1:00 - Lain
    1:30 - Cowboy Bebop

    Good topic... let's see...

    8:00 - Adult Swim Movie
    10:00 - Blue Submarine #6
    10:30 - Hellsing
    11:00 - Big O
    11:30 - Cowboy Bebop
    12:00 - Berserk
    12:30 - Outlaw Star

Everything would, of course, but completely uncut except for time constraints.

My Adult Swim Movie would be different every week, but some of the ones I'd like to be on would be Princess Mononoke, Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Cowboy Bebop: Knockin' On Heaven's Door, that sort of thing. And sometimes instead of a movie I'd air a two hour block of four episodes of one show: one week could be a Big O block, another week could be a Cowboy Bebop block, and so on.

Some people would disagree with my decision to have Outlaw Star and Berserk after Cowboy Bebop instead of having one of the strongest series finish up the block, to which I would say, I'd rather have two weaker shows come last so that if I were especially tired I could go to bed a half hour or an hour early without missing the main event. I think a good block should start out pretty good (Blue Sub 6, Hellsing), rise to a crescendo of untouchable greatness, (Big O, Cowboy Bebop), and then taper off again (Berserk, Outlaw Star). But that's just my thought on the matter.

Of course, a block ANYTHING like this will only happen when Mephistophales can snowboard to work... but a man can dream, can't he?

Maybe I'd follow that up with

    1:00 - Serial Experiments Lain
    1:30 - Boogiepop Phantom

For a six-hour super block that would truly make me nut my pants... and would be even more completely unlikely to ever happen unless Beelzebub special-orders ski boots for his cloven hooves. (-:

    In no particular order:

Ranma 1/2 (hey, it's an oldie, but a goodie!)
Record of Lodoss War: TV (damn good fantasy show)
Gasaraki (most realistic and, to me, interesting mecha show ever)
    Betteman (another excellent mecha anime)
Bastard! (heheh almost a joke pick, but it's a good show)
DBZ: UNCUT... SAIYAN SAGA ONWARD! (umm no, really, I'm being serious =P)

    MMmmm...

well here is just a short list...heh...

if it is a three hour block let me count the ways.

    BGC 2040
    Sol Bianca : the Legacy
    Betterman
    Boogiepop Phantom
    Kenshin
    Berserk

ok now...all of these shows would have to air unedited, though i think the only ones that would suffer horribly from a complete edit would be Berserk and Betterman. however if these shows were uncut i feel we would have 26/25 weeks of good action anime suitable for the adult audience.
Aren't you tired of all of this? I know I am.

Everytime I read the words, "Boogiepop Phantom" I bust out laughing. I'm sure the show is good, has it's merits, etc. But still...Boggiepop Phantom? Has this been brought over to the US on DVD with that name?

Not a huge anime fan, I like Bebop and Mononoke, didn't like Akira too terribly much. As is, I can't respectably comment on my "Dream ASA block"

    ASC, though:

    Home Movies
    New Mission Hill
    New Clerks
    Futurama
    Sealab
    Aqua teens
    Space Ghost

Basically, the fan boy list that everyone has heard before.
It's time to take out the me.

Your dreams could finally be reality due to the fact that anime gain tons of exposure (Pokemon, DragonballZ, Cowboy Bebop). Unfortunately, this could also be just a dream so WAKE UP PEOPLE!

    Spoiler:
But if I had a choice in the matter, than I'll say
-Escaflowne (Those who haven't seen the uncut version, then you have GOT to see this)
-Neon Genesis Evangelion (The impossible could finally become possible)
-Z Gundam (and we'll probably be seeing it soon )
-Digimon Tamers/Season 3 (no, I'm not joking. And no, I don't mean the crappy Fox's version. I'm talking about the uncut, original music intact version. It's SO much better with the original music, there's much much more mature themes involve, you just have to see it to believe it. I'd normally wanted it on Toonami, but it's great opening wouldn't appear, and I think it could fit into ASA quite nicely. And no, I'm not daydreaming.)
