Inu-Yasha: It was an average first show, I'm sure that once it gets going it will be much better. Good for an expository episode, though. C+
(By the way, for a second there, didn't it look like the stone was a magic breast implant)

"Um, when I came on the show, I was under the impression that you could win prizes or money. Not orphaned children."
The State needs to be on DVD... now.
The dubbing was ok,Kagome didn't have any emotion though but Cox is perfect as IY.The editing was seemless and looks like we'll see Do as Infinity on US shores pretty soon.Great episode too.
B+
Since IY was the only reason I watched, I might as well review now.
I'll quote my sister first: "For a dub, that rocked." I squee'd "V6!!!!" when the opening started. The voices were good except for Inu-Yasha's.. I'm sorry, but I've NEVER liked the new-Ranma voice, it's too whiny. The show overall, fabulous. Seeing Takahashi's work on TV warms my heart.
Oh yes, and I can't wait for Do as Infinity.. mm.. sweet sweet music..
Inu-Yasha was great, although confuseing, but i'm sure all of my confusion will be settled as the series goes on, but all in all it was good. and Tv-PGthe VAs were great, and I dident catch alot of edits
Final Grade: A
Dogcows, by their nature, are not all dog, nor are they all cow, but they are a special genetic hybrid. They are rarely seen in the wild. Since dogcows are two dimensional, they will stand facing a viewer "on edge" to avoid being seen
i was surprised they used the original opening and ending, after hearing that they're gonna use the english version.
for a first episode, it was good, but i was looking for something more (which probably will continue on Episode 2), so i give it a B-
Life is victory and Death is defeat.
IY: Wow! That was pretty good for a first episode! Good dubbing, neat plot, and an AWESOME theme music(And they kept the Japanese version!). But the only uncut part that prevented this from being Toonami-worthy was Inu-Yasha slicing the centipede woman down the middle(That and the fact that Centipede Woman herself looked pretty freaky in her true form.)I'll be watching for sure!
A-
YYH: An OK episode, but not much happens and it's barely important to the plot. It's on as I type this part, and I don't really care.
CB: Um...And this is the scariest episode HOW? A friend had told me that the cat in the experiment scene is what makes it so scary, but I can't see how. IT'S A FRICKING NORMAL CAT JUST SITTING THERE. In no way does this rival Session 6 for the title of Episode That Kept Me Awake. On a side note..."It's dangerous in here! Let's play outside!"![]()

IY: Ah. Refreshing to see this episode again. First time saw it at Comic Con. Only one edit over the whole episode: The demon originally has breasts. Viz has digitally removed the lines, cropped her, or done anything possible to smooth down the breasts into "man pecs." They missed a couple times though.
YYH: A comical episode indeed!BTW, there won't be an edit list by me for this episode. None are present.
well we all expected the breats cut i mean come on .... i dont remember any other cuts they could have made or not.......thats the only one..
So far so good.
WOO!! Cant wait for more
I wisht hey would add some subs to the beginnigns and opening... i mean sure i can get the lyrics online (Animelyrics.com ) or on my fansubs but for those who dont know of thatit would be nice of them.

IY: Since this is the second time I have seen this episode (the first was a fansub a long time ago), I was not excited as I should have been. But at least the IY voice worked in my opinion, while I have slightly warmed a bit to Kagome if only because she was not using that bossy tone from the ads all the time. And boy was I excited to hear "Change the World" on my TV in its Japanese glory! (as well as "My Will", but remember the shock we almost went through this week)
StrangerAtaru: Just another one of those weirdo lurker guys with a screwed up mind and a Zako army at his command
I like Inu-Yasha, I kinda wanted more of an explantation though. B+, BTW doesn't he have CAT ears? Not dog ears?
some smaller dogs have those ears....like the scottish terrior or something liek that

I've seen fansubs of the first three or so episodes of Inuyasha. The real plot doesn't get going for a few episodes. I'm glad CN picked this up, I've been wanting to see more.
They removed the breasts!!!!!![]()

But then how will the story be moved further??????? They butchered this great Japanese masterpiece because of some soccer moms!!!!! I wish this would never be shown in America.

I'll give it a B++ it will probably get better later on.
Huh... didn't really like Inu Yusha. I thought it was kinda dumb and generic. I'll give it a chance, but I think WS could've accquired a better show if they had tried... Trigun, Patlabor, Rouini Kenshin and BGC 2040 all seem to come to mind...
Oh, and what 15-year old that you know has those kind of legs? I mean, geez... I'm getting kinda tired of the physically perfect syndrome in anime females.

Inuyasha: This is my first time seeing this show and I don't know if I like it or not. I have questions about the show, but I don't want to flood it on here so I'll wait for a separate thread dedicated to the show.
I like the animation, reminded me a little of the kind of animation Tenchi Muyo has. I ended up recording it so when I watched the tape and the episode ended, it took me completely by surprise since it just happened. Well, one of my questions was asked in the preview for Episode 2 so I'll keep watching.
Overall grade: Right now, B-. This will probably change once someone can answer my questions about the show.
Cowboy Bebop: Um, it was ok I guess. How is Spike standing when he clearly got shot in the shoulder (with blood clearly present)?? I was entertained, but a bit confused. Next episode looks good as usual. Overall grade: C+
I'll be back later tomorrow with Outlaw Star comments. Good night.
Inu-Yasha : I was overall pleased with the dub. I don't care what anyone says, but Richard Cox is a convincing Inu-Yasha and the rest of the voice actors match their respective roles. In fact, I'd go so far to say that each actor sounds close to his/her Japanese counterpart, just in English. And I didn't mind the digital editing of the centipede demon's breasts, considering how HUGE they really are. And besides, that's the closest they'd ever get to nudity in "Inu-Yasha" uncut; the anime was toned down from the manga already anyway. And they kept the original openings and endings? YES! Thank you!
My only complaint? The script. Seriously, the show has some great voice talent that's brought down tremendously by the bloody script. Luckily, there weren't too many cultural references as we feared (the "Wizard of OZ" reference was a sore thumb, but it wasn't too bad). But a lot of the scenes were hurt by the script, especially Kaede's and Kagome's scenes.
Overall, I'd give the first episode of "Inu-Yasha" a B+. Good selection of voice talents brought down by a lousy script, and very little editing.
Yu Yu Hakusho : A filler episode that doesn't really have anything to do with the plot, but it was pretty decent. It's defintely not my favorite episode, but at least it fits in the show.
Overall, a B+.
Cowboy Bebop : This episode is one of the two bright spots in the less-than-stellar Session 5 DVD (the other being "Cowboy Funk"). Very creepy and disturbing and a hell of a ride. It's just a pity they had to remind us that the next episode is the worst "Cowboy Bebop" episode of them all.
Overall, an A.
After that, I quite watching ASA because that's all I watch these days. "Gundam 0083" is a decent show...once. I was never really that interested in "Mobile Suit Gundam" to being with. And I've seen enough "Outlaw Star". But with "Pilot Candidate" gone and "Inu-Yasha" stepping in, I can now watch 1/2 of ASA instead of 1/3.
Overall, a very good ASA this week. Can't wait for the next one.
Whatever you do, don't read this signature.
...?
Inu-Yasha was interesting. It left me wanting more...
So I can't write a good review about it until I see more.
Gundam 0083:
I HATE THIS PART!!!!
The Tactical Incompetance of the Fedies Angers me to no end. (My Undergrad Historical Specialty was Military History (Specificly Naval Combat)
Except for the Captain of Uraki's Ship, the entire Federation fleet is full of fools. How is this possible?
duuuuhhh, Zekes have Nuke... Nuke make big blast in small area.....
That's IT! Lets Put all our ships IN THAT SMALL AREA! What a great idea!
Bah. Fools.

Inu Yasha
Episode 1
For a premiere episode I wouldn't say it was anything outstanding. Seemed a little rushed to me. But outside of that it turned out pretty good. Animation was great, the original opening & closing were in, and the edit was sensible (much prefer what Viz did to those lame digital clothes). And yet again Viz turns out an excellent dub. As an added bonus they actually had the great idea to credit the actors with their roles! Gee Bandai, have you ever thought of that?![]()
Grade: B
Yu Yu Hakusho
Episode 3
Even though its a filler episode this one's actually one of my favorites in the entire seriesSeeing Kuwabara get his ass kicked so much is hilarious. As was Yusuke beating up everyone as a girl. If the show kept this formula instead of turning into DBZ it sure would have turned out a lot better...
Grade: B
Cowboy Bebop
Episode 20: Pierot Le Fou
Just recently reviewed this episode when the marathon aired, don't have much to say so I'll end it with that.
Grade: A+
Gundam 0083
Episode 9: Nightmare of Solomon
This episode was insanely confusing the first time, with the first appearance of Axis, all these Feddie officers showing up, etc... which resulted in a rather low grade for the first viewing. Now that I've seen the ep a few times its much better. Unfortunately the show has a major flaw in which you really have to watch the last half of the series atleast 3 or 4 times to understand it properly @_@
Grade: B+
Mobile Suit Gundam
Episode 8: Winds of War
Yet another crazy filler episode. In typical filler fashion this one makes little sense compared with other episodes (last time all those civilians wanted to leave. Now that they get the chance only a half a dozen do!?). We also get a rather goofy translation/script problem when they call the Grand Canyon the Great Canyon (although this mistake was made by the jap writers, so don't blame Ocean :rolleyes) Do we get another interesting look at how bad war is? Yep. But thats not enough to get this episode a good grade.
Luckily with this episode, the worst stretch of the series is over. Got a bunch of really good episodes coming up, starting next week when Amuro starts one of his trademark tenter tantrums.
Grade: C-
Outlaw Star
Episode 20: Cats and Girls and Spaceships
This episode is actually one of my favorite in the series, being beaten out only by 'The Seven Emerge' and the Hilda episodes. This episode keeps things rather simple and rather than making the episode overly goofy like so many in the series are, its a rather serious and tragic one. A good example of how good the writers could handle an episode of the show, sadly they couldn't always work up to that level.
Grade: A-
The Lone Gunmen. Harsh Realm. John Doe. Firefly. Boston Public. Wonderfalls. And now MadTV. FOX must DIE!!!!!!
I didn't get to catch Inu Yasha or Yu Yu Hakusho due to my bro and Big Brother 3.
Cowboy Bebop
Man this episode blew my mind. It was so cool and bloody and filled with action. Man this episode makes me want to go out and buy each and every cowboy bebop thing I can get my hands on.
A+
Gundam 0083
I liked this episode. It was filled with a decent amount of action, and finally Anavel shot that Nuke woohoo down with those feds.
A
MSG
Meh this episode was rather boring to me. I didn't pay much attention to it, but I like Gundam so i'll give it a decent score anyway.
B
Outlaw Star
I don't like that little girls voice. SOOOO ANNOYING. The best part about this episode is the ship battle near the end. And doesn't it suck that Jim has no idea he killed his love. Oh well great episode other then that girls voice. Ahhhh Aisha how I love you.
