I hope this make you people happy, and who didn't know what the rabbit hole thing meant.
"Yura of the Dragon Hall" has been changed to "Yura of the Demon Hair" on the schedule.
It was probably just a typo in the grids originally. Hope that makes a lot more sense.
As for the "Down the Rabbit Hole", they're not talking about a LITERAL rabbit hole, they're referencing Alice in Wonderland, where Alice fell down a rabbit hole and wound up in another world.
I hope this make you people happy, and who didn't know what the rabbit hole thing meant.
I got the "rabbit hole" reference, so that didn't really bother me at all, but the whole "dragon hall" thing was just outright weird.
Thanks for the correction, though. Typos suck.
Thats good, I was worried about that.
I still don't like the reference to Alice in Wonderland though.
Just keep the titles simple and like they were in the Japanese version.
Depends on what you mean by simple.
I've seen the fansub translations. Some of them are ridiculously stupid.. and why have two sentences in an episode title?
Inu Yasha fansubs are so inconsistent. There's so many different names for Sesshoumaru, and one episode it's hanyou, then half-demon,back to hanyou,it's pathtic.Problem is no group does more then 5 episodes at a time.

That how anime titles were back in the day (nowadays they seem to enjoy having 1-2 words for a title).
Glad to hear the "Dragon Hall" thing was cleared up. And to tell the truth, the Alice in Wonderland reference doesn't bother me.

I love the two phrase titles.![]()

O.o;;;;;;;; hanyou and half-demon are the exact same thing, only one's the english version. Besides, that would be describing Inuyasha, not Sesshoumaru. (Hell, Inuyasha being half human is one of the reasons Sesshoumaru despises him so much)Originally posted by stanteau

I mean it switches form English to Japanese on a regular basis, kind of annoying with some of the names of stuff being so damn long.
oh god.
Couldn't they just call it the Girl who overcame Time and the boy who was sealed up.
This might be a little off topic, but speaking of changes to titles, I heard some rumors that the English dub got a little screwed up by Pioneer what I mean is that all swearing even what is exceptable on ASA was changed, this according to www.animenewservice.com hopefully since there is two weeks left they can fix this problem, but this is mostly a rumor![]()

1) The dub's by Viz, not Pioneer.
2) There are three weeks to the premiere, not two
3) It's a fact, not a rumor.
Okay, so far the fact that Viz dumbed down the language seems to be the only complaint. I've heard nothing else about the dub, like whether or not it actually sounds good with the toned down language. If it still sounds good, I couldn't care less about the toned down language; the anime was already toned down from the manga anyway.

The literal translation of Inuyasha episode 1 was well done by Viz, since how the japanese episode title ends "and the boy who was overcome by time" Viz just shortened it and cut out the by time because, well I'm assuming here, that they expect some people to have the intelligence to be be able to keep up with the fact that they are talking about time.
THe Rabit whole's translation is something like "Finally! Back Through the Bone Eaters Well" I personally like the Alice and Wonderland reference especially since the Japanese make references to their culture all the time (Also, Alice and Wonderland has been done many times one can look at Card Captor Sakura where there is an entire episode on it)
And the episode with Sesshoumaru is, "The Fearful Prince...Sesshoumaru"
so the "Aristocratic Assassin" is wrong oh well what are you gonna do. Just be happy that they kept his name Sesshoumaru.
And finally, why do you guys care so much about toned down language? Who the hell cares that they say Crap instead of Sh**, I mean lets get serious its the same show a curse word is not important. The problem is many people live in the ignorant American ideal that Curse words, killing, blood, nudity and everything else that is bad about society makes shows successful. It doesn't.
What it comes down to is if you dont like the dub than don't watch it and stop complaining because no one cares.

Actually, the reason everyone's making such a fuss is that ALL the swear words have been cut out, even crap and damn.

Everyone that has episode title translation translates it as that.
The point is that Inu-yasha is japanese their should be no reason to put in american references in the dub.
yeah sorry I was incorrect i just went in and translated it myself it is "the boy who is sealed" oh well it does not make a huge difference its still means the same thing
Yes the show is made in Japan but its being shown to American audience. Believe me they do the same thing over there if an American culture item is addressed and it would not be understood.
And as said before Alice and Wonderland makes many appearances in Japan, and A&W isnt even American its British so it isnt really a part of American pop culture more of World Culture. Its a very famous story, and even the Japanese know of it and use it in their shows. Did the Japanese people get angry when Card Captor Sakura (and im sure other shows) used Alice and Wonderland in an episode or so? No because stupid stuff like this doesn't bother them.
And on the stuff about the dub how does anyone know how it is? Has someone seen an episode? This always baffels me, n ot to say that it might not be true becuase it may be true, but everyone seems to be making a bid deal over nothing. Again I say if you dont like the dub dont watch it and buy the DVDs or continue with the fansubs. The companies like Bandai, Viz, ADV, etc. all dub the shows for one thing. So they can make money off of them. If they kept everything in japanese lingo which would make 95% of the people watching go "huh?" they wouldnt make any money and then no new Animes or other foreign shows would ever have the chance of coming over.
