Cowgirl Ed animated series?
I was just looking at the "international" section of PREVIEWS magazine, and I noticed a cover for a Japanese magazine with Cowgirl Ed and Ein on the cover. Unfortunately, the text on the cover (and in the magazine) is all in Japanese (except for "COWGIRL ED"). Does the Cowgirl Ed cover story suggest there is an animated series? I've been speculating that we would see Ed in her own series ever since her last appearance on Bebop included the words, "See you, cowgirl."

That would be amusing, but I think it's just a nickname that stuck with most Japanese magazines. Probably just promoting the upcoming movie.

The name of the magazine is NEWTYPE.COM.

Just incase you're temepted to try it, I already did, and Newtype.com is a domain name that's still up for sale.
I hope they do a Cowgirl Ed series. I would like to see more of her, perhaps grown up a tad and more mature, and I really want to see a series use Ein to his full potential.

Newtype has all sorts of wacky nicknames for characters. "Cool Cowboy Spike Spiegel." Or "Beauty Fighting Sailor Moon." You know, that kind of stuff.
So far, the only CB news is about the movie. Other than their Gundam franchise, Sunrise studios is not in the habit of making sequel series, even for their most popular shows. And even their Gundam sequels rarely feature the same characters as their predecessors.

I wish that magazine was in English....
So what is the movie supposed to be about? I heard it was going to take place between two of one of the last episodes of the series. I'd take a Cowgirl Ed movie, too. With more Ein.

Wish granted. An english Newtype magazine will hit stores in the coming months, with 70% of the magazine covering Japanese releases only (that is, those that haven't been released domestically yet).
The movie takes place right before Ed left, I think. Judging from previews, it looks similar to episode 1: a mysterious terrorist (subbing for the drug user), his dame, and a lot of stylish film noir atmosphere. Of course, all 5 bebop members are on the case.

Thanks for info on the magazine. I will have to keep alert to catch this one. Hopefully, Westfield will carry it. If its in PREVIEWS magazine, they will get it.
