Quite right. A manga doesn't get 70 volumes published in English (as of 3/4/14) and released on a regular schedule if it's any kind of drag for the publisher. One can't just look at a bestseller list and judge success based on what is and isn't on it. Otherwise an absurd percentage of manga released in the United States would qualify as "unsuccessful".

The unavoidable fact is that if no more One Piece were released as of tomorrow (as opposed to the reality, where the end is nowhere near in sight), the manga and anime would still have one of the longest English language runs in the history of either industry in the United States. This pretty much speaks for itself. Hopefully most of the fans out there recognize this fortunate situation for what it is.

That's not until at least Season 7 or 8 and Funimation has only announced the license to Season 6 a month-in-a-half ago which has the next big arc right after Enies Lobby. I don't know if you even watch One Piece on Toonami week-to-week (I can't recall seeing you post in the talkback threads), but if you have been and you're concerned, I guarantee you that a lot, and I mean A LOT of interesting stuff happens before Impel Down. I wouldn't be too quick to dismiss what the context of an arc full of episodes will be like based on what one user said without having at least seen it.
I'm up to date with the Manga, and i'm not much active around talk-backs since i mostly follow the Toonami community on NeoGAF first and foremost. I do like to drop by here from time to time given the useful info around TZ and such lol.

Thanks for the heads up though, since i haven't really watched the OP Anime past Water 7 yet.

... psh. it's clear One Piece doesn't belong with ATROCIOUS numbers like which it had, it should be removed! ...

Wonderful night for the block with 5 shows being viewed by more than 1mil viewers.

One thing I don't understand, is for Arizona who doesn't do the DST, that state alone could not have counted for 996K viewers, so where does that come from? --- I feel I've asked this before but am too lazy to check back.

Those are fantastic ratings. Five shows breaking the one million mark is amazing. It's especially nice to see one of those shows being One Piece after all of the panic that came from the last couple of weeks. Soul Eater did pretty well for itself and the later hours of the block held up pretty nicely too. This was a really strong week for the block.

I'm guessing it's just the number of TVs on at the minute Blue Exorcist ends/Soul Eater starts.

Really nice week. There were almost no drops from the first few shows like usual resulting in a very strong night the whole way through.

Jesus, those ratings are ri-DONK-culous!! That couldn't have ALL been due to Daylight Savings, could it? I swear.... ratings can be weird in terms of how they fluctuate. Like you can never pinpoint for sure (or at least I can't) what could make some shows dip or boost on any given week. But.... man! We haven't seen quintiple miilions in.... I think months!

Wait... do other states actually have 1 hour of downtime on their televisions? That's so weird to me. (Arizona native.)

I'm happy that more and more people are checking out Toonami. It's a really killer 6 1/2 hours of programming. I'm in love with how packed the schedule is right now, and looking at those ratings a ton of other people are enjoying the line up, too.

For a while now we've only been getting the Toonami ratings. Does anybody know how these compare to the rest of Adult Swim?

Pretty solid turnout this week, and some really good viewer retention (up until Naruto). Honestly, the whole block practically plateaued, only slightly declining as the night went on. And it seems the Soul Eater finale didn't exactly get a huge turnout.

Soul Eater did really well for it's finale.

What's weird to look at, is from 2:30am+, all shows are over 600K+ total viewers, but Star Wars had a growth spurt with 800+ before most left before SBT came on.

The ratings are little lower at the beginning, but overall they maintain consistency throughout, which is good. Hoping those viewers that they lost were more the younger crowd. Either way, I'm happy with them.

Fine ratings, though down at the top. The latter half did great especially Star Wars. That's really impressive 5am numbers.

I swear, how the shows do in target demos switches around all the time.

It looks like a pretty good turnout for the block. The first three shows breaking the one million mark is great and One Piece still did really good. Blue Exorcist did pretty well and Soul Eater had a good turnout for its finale. The later hours did pretty well for themselves, especially Star Wars, so it looks like a pretty solid week for the block.

I think we can conclude at this point that after 1AM, the regular viewers are settled in and the ratings aren't going to change much week-to-week. Before 1AM, however, you're going to get a lot more casual viewers and thus we see a lot more fluctuation, due to a wider range of factors (sports, popular movies, new SNL, holidays, etc), but most of them will be gone by 1AM. Thus when Dandy & Bleach get a huge week (1.4 mil), we see a large drop, but when they have a more modest week (just 1 mil), you don't see the same drop after 1:00.
