Sakura, having completed the tree-climbing exercise, is tasked with protecting Zabuza while Naruto and Sasuke continue training. Sakura gets a close-up view at the poverty-stricken and desperate Land of Waves, and wonders how the land could come to this point. She asks over dinner over the torn picture Inari seems to keep looking at. Tazuna explains that the man in the torn picture was Kaiza, a man who became a father figure to Inari and who Inari idolized fervently. Kaiza was revered as a hero in the Land of Waves, but when Gato came to the Land of Waves he had Kaiza brutally tortured and then publicly executed him as an example. The incident demoralized the Land of Waves and made Inari lose all faith in heroic figures and heroism in general. Determined to prove Inari wrong, Naruto attacks his training with renewed determination . . . and refusing to help Sasuke with his own struggles while learning to climb trees, of course.

Missed the episode due to family obligations, but from the comments it seems that I didn't miss much. The only things of interest is that Naruto meets a dude that looks like a lady, and annoying kid gets into trouble.
