In the series finale of Samurai 7...
The fight against the Capital continues!

Last time on Samurai 7...

Kambei and the other samurai arrived at the village and jumped onto the capital to look for Ukyo. Once inside, Heihachi told Katsushiro that his job was to blow up the lower half of the capital. Katsushiro fended off the bandits, while Heihachi set the detonators. Elsewhere in the capital, Kambei and the others made it to the main throne room and found "Ukyo." However, they soon realized that he was a fake, as each of them found an "Ukyo". Kikuchiyo smelled them and determined that they were farmers in disguise. In the lower half, Heihachi continued to set up the detonators, but he was shot. After commenting that he wanted to eat a lot of rice if he survived, he stumbled to the last pillar and placed the detonator on it. Suddenly, a Nobuseri arrived and shot Heihachi. Heihachi managed to blow it up, but its weapon crushed him. Katsushiro yelled out that he was going to save him, but Heihachi told him not to and hit the switch, blowing up the lower half along with himself.

Back in the throne room, Kambei, Shichiroji, and Kikuchiyo let the imposters go. However, Tessai arrived and killed the three in one blow. Bandits arrived, and started shooting at the three. Tessai managed to corner them, but, just in time, Kyuzo arrived and killed Tessai, commenting that he alone would have the honor of Kambei's death. The bandits started firing again, and Katsushiro showed up. Just as he was about to be shot, Kambei saved him. This left Kambei defenseless, and seeing this, Katsushiro picked up a gun and shot the bandit, but unbeknownst to him, Kyuzo was standing behind the bandit, and was also shot. Kambei picked Kyuzo up, and Kyuzo told him that they still had a score to settle. Kambei replied that he would never forget. With his last breath, Kyuzo told Kambei that he would be waiting for him in Kanna. Katsushiro then said that he took a friend's life and that he would pay it back with his own life. Kambei told him that he did it to save his life, and that it doesn't matter who died. All that matters was who died first. He then told Katsushiro that he needed him to continue living until the job was done. Shichiroji asked where Heihachi was, and Katsushiro told him that he went down with the lower engines. Kambei commented that this was war and that no one should expect to see the sunset. He then asked who was going to take Ukyo's head...

HELL YEAH!! Kikuchiyo!! It all comes full circle! That's why I love shows like this!!

Well, you wanted Kambei. Here he is.

Dammit! He's still not dead yet! How can Kambei slice a giant robot in half, but not kill a frail nobleman?

Blaming everything on the previous administration, eh?

Okay, that was a damn cool moment from Kikuchiyo.

In the words of Austin Powers: "Why won't he die?!"

Now there's a face that just SCREAMS "sloppy seconds for Komachi."

You know, they teach their WOMEN "don't get raped", but they don't teach their EMPERORS "don't rape!"

YOU SHALL NOT PASS!!!

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaand there goes Ukyo.

[Nobodyman]

And so the reign of Emperor Ukyo comes to a crumbling and all too abrupt end. Easy come, easy go.

[Kitschensyngk]

And today, the great Ukyo, that marvelous he
Is king of the mud. That is all he can see.
And the farmers, of course...all the farmers are free.
As farmers, and maybe, all people should be.

Shichiroji has to life. They gave him a wife, after all.

That'll do, Katsu. That'll do.

At least Kiku died with his boots on.

That thing came back and went down like Crocomire in the fiery depths of Norfair.

RIP Gorobei, Heihachi, Kyuzo, and Kikuchiyo.

No! Poor Kiku. And all he left behind was a pair of smoldering boots.

Well, the samurai finally got their rice. Three of them anyway.

And then, finally................. there were 3. R.I.P Kikuchiyo. R.I.P to the samurai that've fallen.

And Kirara passes the torch.

Ukyo's father seems to be doing okay.

Yeah, the rest of this is just warp-up.

Again, I REALLY THOUGHT they looked cute together.

Hey, Katsushiro grew up to learn the meaning of living on!

At last, Katus is a worthy samurai.

But he dumped Kirara? That's lame. At least in the original movie they left it ambiguous.
