This week on Sym-Bionic Titan...
A distress call from G3's Solomon sends Titan to a decimated space station.

Last time on Sym-Bionic Titan...

Ilana felt homesick, so she joined the Homecoming Dance Committee and created a Galalunian-themed dance. Meanwhile, Modula was approached by an alien who bet his own life that he had a creature that would destroy Ilana and crush the Galalunian People's spirit, as rumors of Modula's continued failure has been spreading. Ilana decided to go to the dance with Jason, while Newton decided to go with Kimmy. Lance asked Kristin to go the dance with him, but she declined. Having no one else to ask, he later asked Maribel, one of the homecoming planners. Issues arised when the creature arrived just as the trio and their dates were about to depart for the dance. Titan, at first, failed to defeat the creature, as Octus and Ilana were distracted by them missing the dance and making Kimmy feel guilty and upset. However, Lance's lack of concern for their feelings pushed Ilana and Octus over the top, and the creature was soundly defeated as a result of their frustration. Later, Kimmy, fed up with Octus's "bathroom" disappearances, broke up with him, while Ilana and Lance shared a dance under the spotlight. Modula, after destroying the alien, continued plotting a way to destroy Ilana once and for all.

They managed to get to their destination pretty fast. Saturn takes years just to arrive with our current tech, and that's sending unmanned probes.

For a space station with no power, the artificial gravity seems to be working.

Oh, the Station rotates. That's why it's pseudo-grav is still working.

Edit: Since I haven't followed the series as much as I liked, is there a reason Octus has a old man form?

I remember seeing this ep for the first time back in 2011. I actually teared up a little.

Dam it, this show mades me cry everytime. Octus please make it. And Lance's reaction at the end when he took on those guys, that was awesome. Well if Octus this might complete is transformation of becoming more human.

One minor question, we know Lance and Ilana are pretending to be brother and sister, and "Dad" is their dad, but how is Newton suppose to fit in all this? Is he suppose to be their cousin, a family friend?

I always thought he was posting as their brother.

Anyway, great episode. To be honest, I didn't really expect Lance to fall of the rope and Octus to "die" protecting him. The clips throughout the episode of Octus being cute, funny, or helpful should have clued me in to the fact that something was gonna happen to him. I enjoyed how Solomon doesn't seem to be that kind of guy who would get help from group Titan, and then use it as a opportunity to capture them. Yeah, he did when they got captured the first time, but it's not like he was in any legitimate danger, like this time. I guess I'll find out if I'm right about this next week. Lance's reaction at the end of the episode pretty much sums up how I feel at the energy monster for hurting Octus.

This is kind of what makes animation so great as a visual storytelling medium. Communication. What the story is visually communicating?

Some guys who are into anime want to always argue that the great thing about animation is knowing you can do whatever ideas you want and that with anime specifically, there's on-screen death and people making death threats and sexuality and nudity and what-not. And when they compare to American animation, somehow it's inferior because standards and practices get in the way of being dramatic. Yet................ we're being communicated that a robot may have had his life ended and one of the characters went beserk over it. And for a minute, no voice acting no sound effects, no blood, no cursing. The animation and music did all the communication as to what you were suppose to be feeling out it. You could feel something like that in just a short and yet we seen what these characters are like until that episode, so it had even more of an impact on those who watch it.

THAT'S the beauty of animation folks.

All of the flashbacks with Octus and their concern for them on the station were touching, but it did make the ending seem incredibly obvious in retrospect. Seeing Octus being attacked like that was still pretty intense and Lance blowing up the station out of rage with only the music playing was a good way of showing his grief.

This was an intense episode. Hope they find a way to save him
