This week on Samurai 7...
Katsushiro and Kikuchiyo reflect back at past events and experiences with the group while coming to grips with what they must do next.

Last time on Samurai 7...

Spoiler:

The samurai fought the remaining Nobuseri, who were desperate after the loss of their ship. During the battle, Gorobei tried to deflect the Nobuseri's bullets, but one striked close enough to engulf Gorobei in a lethal explosion, which fatally wounded him. The Nobuseri were defeated, but Gorobei died from his injuries, leaving the others to mourn his death. After, Kambei left the village, leaving the other samurai behind.

Heads up: Samurai 7 will be airing at 1:30AM beginning next Saturday.

I............. could be wrong here, but this seems like anohter "questionably-animated" episode. Although if this is one, it should be the last one.

So we're getting a clip show and some backstory with this one.

I'm not doing my chart for a samurai montage.

If they're gonna flash back to something, how about that epic fight from episode 14?

So this is a clip show. The farmers fielding rice song is catchy, can I get i on my I Pod.

Ukyo just screwed his own father. So much for filial piety.

It appears they have gotten their second wind.

A breather episode, which was needed after the last episode. Can't wait to see what happens next.

I thought that this was an okay episode. It was a decent flashback episode since it also made some bit of progression with the storyline and showed some of the aftermath of the last battle. There were a couple of scenes with that same poor animation, but luckily they didn't last as long as it did the last time they had the episode. It was a nice breather from all the action and should lead up to more with Kambei trying to follow up on their promise to rescue the prisoners. Overall, it was okay. I hope that next week's episode will be more interesting though.

Not the most exciting episode, but we got some cool backstory. War is awful, but I can see why a samurai wouldn't want to stop. Fighting is all that a samurai knows how to do.
