Lance flashed back to his time at the Galalunian military academy shortly after the death of his father. While at the academy, he was bullied and he proved he was better than them by achieving the Medal of Excellence. In doing so, his bullies tried to kill him and they ended up destroying the school.

I don't think the skip was intentional... Toonami's Tumblr said many times that they weren't skipping episodes.

Looks like the fans were actually RIGHT about the schedule, despite the Toonami team constantly saying the schedule was wrong. Seems like there's a communications issue between them and the AS scheduling department, as this happened with Bebop too.

I'm actually glad that they aired this episode instead of Tashy 497. It was more engaging, the fights were great and it was interesting see how they have to worry about G3 now as well. Although, even if I didn't see this episode before, it was pretty obvious that Simon was the prisoner helping them. I do hope that they air Lessons In Love though. They do need to work on the schedule since they may not be aware of what episodes are being skipped.

I really enjoyed "Fortress of Deception". The way the episode opened was really surprising; it's the kind of thing you normally put halfway through the episode, not at the beginning, so it really makes you jump up and take notice from the get-go. I remember back when the show first ran, between the flashback episode we saw last week and this episode, a lot of people speculated that Solomon might be Lance's father, though this episode kind of debunked it. Solomon's boss, on the other hand, is still open for debate. And they haven't explained why G3 has Gallalunian technology, so there's a big red flag right there.

Hopefully, they'll air the Tashy episode for real next week. It's a very cute, yet touching, filler story.

I remember being the most dumbest person alive when I first saw this episode because I did not think the prisoner was Solomon even though it was pretty obvious in retrospect. "Fortress of Decepticon" is awesome and made me like the character more, as well as raise a lot of questions. I used to think Solomon may have been Lance's father, but now I'm convinced he's really the guy in charge of G3 or at least lent them Galalunian technology. And apparently Galalunian martial arts to Solomon specifically.
