Is this ever going to air on actual television or is this just going to be up on the website?
Anyhow, this show was......well, I don't really know what to make of it. I didn't really enjoy it very much but at the same time it wasn't like it was terrible, I think I would have enjoyed it a little better if I was watching it on TV as opposed to a small computer screen. I did kind of dig the animation in this show, it fit the story and had a nice "retro" look to it, but again, I'd much rather watch this on TV than on my computer screen.
Too short. It's my only complaint. Other than that, it's probably the best action premiere in several years, and I can't wait to see more.
Hmm, it seems to be parodying a typical action movie instead of the blaxploitation genre this time around. Hopefully the show doesn't lose its identity/roots as a result.
I must admit, though, that Black Dynamite's super long (and censored) shlong was pretty funny.

Funny, action packed, and well animated. I hope this becomes a series.

Toonami on [as] Saturdays at 12amET. Now with more Sara.
It was interesting and seems to have some potential; I got a few laughs out of the ending and the frog slap.
"Burning Man"? I think you mean "Burning Urethra" -- that place is a massive colony of venereal diseases being nurtured by their human servants. -zombie
This is it. This is the best thing since The Boondocks, if not one of best comedies or action series Adult Swim has had in a very very long time.
Okay that may be the Black Dynamite fan in me talking, but I absolutely believe it. I'm just one of those continuity guys, so I'm wondering why Bullhorn is alive. Then again, it doesn't matter.

I forget that Bullhorn died in the movie; It's Cream Corn that made me initially think it's not in continuity with the movie besides the big puppet showdown and what not. I had a really good time watching this pilot. The way that the puppets were animated seemed very Gainax-influenced and I think the overall look was pretty cool. I also really liked the music throughout and I thought they mostly delivered on the comedy. I do hope that a series is really on the way. I'm a little tired of seeing an awesome AS pilot get buried instead of greenlit. It would be nice to have a reason to tune in to AS again besides my usual DVR recording of Saturday nights action block.

How could you forget that Bullhorn died in the film? How could you forget this epic quote: "Bullhorn, no! At long last, our friendship bonded by the struggle against The Man has been brought to an end by kung-fu treachery!"Originally Posted by Rick Jones
The music, at least in this pilot, comes from the Associated Production Music library, mainly. And it uses many of the same tracks from the film.I also really liked the music throughout

Unbelievable. Everything I would've wanted and then some. Even the limited animation worked nicely.
Great action but man this was HILARIOUS. Haven't laughed that hard in a while.

As far as pilots go I was satisfied. The original movie is absolutely marvelous. My circle and I highly had enjoyed it, so to see this essentially follow the same cast and idea is reassuring to the fact this will be up my alley.
Okay, I just discovered this series about a moment ago, because some guy I know on Facebook uploaded the clip on Adult Swim and basically said, "adult swim, i love you." So I'm like "wait, what is this" and so far I'm five minutes in. Visually speaking I mostly wondered if this is what would happen if studio Madhouse's Redline film (which I never saw yet, but I'm interested) had a more African-american urban flavor to it (from the 70s of course). I mean just look at the Redline trailer below (I think Manga Entertainment has the license to it):

Tell me you don't see any weird similarities other than it having to do with cars? Both this and Black Dynamite have that idea of making all shading black and there's some squashing and stretching and straight-ahead action.... and I dunno. It's just hilarious to me how they seem kinda similar in style.
I watched the movie tonight and it was incredibly awesome and over the top. If they can make episodes as good as the movie I can see this being a great long-staying hit. The pilot was also pretty good in keeping with the feel of the movie.
