what shows on AS are actually adult?

    Like This Thread!
just a thought. i think home movies, baby blues and eltingville in terms of audiencesare the same as simpsons so we really couldnt consider those adult. i really dont know what audiences the brak show, harvey, and space goast attract, but the only 'adult' shows i can tell on AS are bebop and sealab2021.

Sealab 2021? Ha ha ha ha ha ha.

    BUT seriously.

Home Movies and Baby Blues are adult. The rest are for teens.

If Home Movies is "adult", then the Family Guy is for cold blooded murderers on death row.

Why does anyone care? If we had to get "adult" shows, then everything would just have to be animes full of nudity & sex, and violence! Now I LOVE anime, but damn, I want my YYH, Home Movies, ATHF, Eltingville, and Sealab! I can't get them anywhere else! AS is the only place that fits!

Stop crying about whether these shows are "adult" enough, and enjoy em'! You know you watch them, and you know you love them, so why ***** about it?

    Adult: Cowboy Bebop, Baby Blues

Teen: Home Movies, Brak, Yu Yu Hakusho, Aqua Teens, Space Ghost, Birdman, Sealab 2021, Gundam 0083, Outlaw Star (for storyline)

    Kids: Pilot Candidate, Tenchi Muyo

Might as well rename it Teenager's Night Out.

I'm not complaining. Its just that most of them would appeal to teens more than adults.

<obviously someone here is not smart enough to tell if people are complaining or not.>

anyway, i wasnt complaining, i was just asking what shows are actually adult. why? becuase all you guys always say as excuses "why did they edit that? its supposed to be ADULT" or "this show isnt adult enough for AS", but then again, which shows in AS are actually adult?

Adult: Baby Blues, Home Movies, Harvey Birdman and Bebop.

Teen: Sealab, Brak- Pretty much anything WS made.

At first I thought Sealab was for adults, The first episode was smart and edgy but then not one episode could live up to it. It is funny granted but not for adults (my parents dislike it)

The term 'adult' isnt how many swears and nudity you can fit in, well thats the psuedo title slapped on to shows like that. Most shows with nudity and high amounts of swearing TEENs like and ADULTs hate. There for Babyblues>Southpark on the adult scale.

Well do you blame me for assuming your complaining? That's all that goes on around here. Just sticking up for Adult Swim.

To answer your question; Only Bebop is an adult show IMO.

Adult: Cowboy Bebop, Baby Blues, SGC2C, and (to an extent) Home Movies.

Teens: Harvey Birdman, The Brak Show, Sealab 2021, Aqua Teens, Yu Yu Hakusho, Outlaw Star (unedited), Tenchi, (unedited), and Gundam 0083 (unedited).

Kids: Pilot Candidate (edited or unedited I'd still call it a kids show )

Remember when the Simpsons came out and parents wouldnt let this kids watch it because they thought Bart was a bad influence? (they should have been after Homer ) Anyway, if Cartoon Network aired The Simpsons, Home Movies, Ren and Stimpy, etc.. during regular programming, sure kids would watch, but some soccer moms would flip over to nick.

I know some kids who still aren't allowed to watch The Simpsons. But I also know some kids who aren't allowed to watch Dragon Ball Z, Power Rangers, or Digimon. What's your point?

bebop is the only show on AS thats actually adult imo too. to me, an 'adult' show is something serious and has a solid storyline like bebop. thats why i dont see any of the shows on AS comedy as 'adult' with the exception of sealab 2021, but i only saw the first episode (im not complaing either, im just saying). we need more anime on AS.

of course i know about saturday nights. youre talking about ASA right? by "AS needs more anime", im talking about better anime or anime for teens/adults. and also, we need more anime specifically for AS, right now, 4 shows on ASA were specifically for toonami. ive already seen all the anime on ASA except YYH.

I wasn't allowed to watch the Simpsons til season 6 I don't think it was until I was 13 or 14 that I saw my first episode (the one where they get the pool)

Anyway back on subject, yes, the only shows thats treated like an adults show is Cowboy Bebop. I don't care if they want to start blocks like this with shows targetted towards teens. Heck, I love it. I just wish they'd stop consistantly lying to everyone with the 'Adult' thing. Call it adult when there's actually something adult on there.

    Re: what's adult

Read the adult swim commentary: If u don't agree with that too bad.

All of the following say PG13+ on the box. I still consider them all adult regardless of any edits made.

I'm kinda tired of the is Adult Swim adult question. CCF Fan makes a great point, whether or not it's adult is on a person-by-person basis. It's all in the eye of the beholder. What really IS adult? It's as pointless a debate as what art is. It seems like everytime there's a new show or a review or something everybody argues over whether or not it's "Adult". The debate is certainly significant to a point (which is why the block is called Adult Swim), but I think it's been rammed into the ground. The block is still evolving, distinguishing itself from other animation, etc. Give it time, stop questioning, and enjoy the shows at face value.
