What's funny about this comparisson is that in the Fox Kids UK dub of the show Masao was voiced by Russi Taylor and had the exact same voice as Martin.
Does Masao in Funimation's dub of Shin-chan remind anyone else a little bit of Martin Prince from The Simpsons (Bart's geeky and off-kilter classmate)?
Brina Palencia's voice acting of Masao sounds a bit like Martin at times in her tone. Both characters do seem to get rather excited easily.
Also, when upon watching an episode of The Simpsons from Season Six, "Bart of Darkness", Martin is heard shouting "Soon, I will be queen of summer!" in the scene where he is getting his own pool built to compete with the Simpsons' swimming pool.

Hmm, never knew that. Maybe Funimation's team watched a bunch of the Phuuz dub episodes. I guess Masao in the Japanese version was too bland for the Funi writers to poke fun at.
SC: Brina is the voice of Georgie, actually. Maso is voiced by Colleen Clinkenbeard.

The thing some of you may not realise, but the current FUNimation dub, is the third english dub of Shin Chan. The earlier dubs that were on Fox UK and Jetix UK, had two different companies with different casts.
The earlier more family orient Shin Chan that was in the UK and other English speaking country outside of North America, had two totally different shows.
Here in North America, we have the third overal english version of Shin Chan.
"The category is Hydromagnetic Magnetoidal Dimensions. When travelling at a subsonic speed during the last one hour of hypersleep, which vector of the Romulan Nebula will suffer the wrath of the impenetrable quickening? And for extra points, how many wraths to the nearest moulton? Be specific, this is a real question." - Ned Hastings
"It is I, Cloneborg! I have come to destroy you!" - Cloneborg
I know it's on DVD in the UK and I think maybe the same dub's on DVD in Australia. I'm pretty they're dub-only, so probably not worth importing it unless you want to see it that badly.
It would be nice if Funimation included it as extra supplements on their upcoming season sets, unless there's some rights problem.
