i have no idea, but man I want to see it
What little I have heard about the next "Harvey Birdman: Attorney At Law" episode, is it has to do with Shaggy from Scooby Doo getting busted for "Possession". LMAO!!!!
Now what I'd like to know is, is Casey Kasem gonna do Shaggy's voice for this, or has he pretty much written off ever doing Shaggy's voice again in ANY context?
Also, I'm surprised Hanna-Barbera hasn't screamed bloody murder about this, you know, "now look here, it's one thing to breathe life into Birdman and Space Ghost, two of our lower-tier characters, but Scooby Doo and the characters therin are as sacred to us as Mickey Mouse is to Disney! NO!!! A THOUSAND TIMES, NO!!!" Or something as EQUALLY laughable.
Anyhoo, does anyone know if/when this episode is airing, and all the details thereof?
Thanx,
Sisto Kid

Jimmy Fallon provides the voice Shaggy in HB:AAL. Hopefully Fallon knows what he's doing. I hate SNL rejects thinking they know how to impersonate a character.
Yeah, Matt, I agree. The only thing worse is SNL rejects thinking that their OWN SNL character is funny enough to sustain a whole movie.
Too bad Casey's not doing it though. However, I understand why he doesn't do Shaggy anymore. The guy is what, 68? Kinda hard impersonating a teenage stoner when you get to that age. (Although Frank Welker STILL does a kick-ass job of Freddie Jones)
"Don't kill children
Don't run 'em over
Let 'em live thier lives
And let 'em get older"
What IS Dwayne's band's name on Home Movies? I forget.
Luv n' Rockets,
S.K.
How come they didn't get Scott Innes? That's the current voice of Shaggy, right?
Yes Sora, as a matter of fact he is! Not only that, but he's the current voice of Scooby, too. And his mentor/teacher was none other than the original Scooby Doo, Mr. Don Messick himself! (God Rest His Soul.)
As to why he's not doing Shaggy in HB:AAL, he either wasn't asked, or he WAS asked, he saw the script and turned it down out of respect for the character. Don't know for sure, but I'd bet it was either one of the two.
Here, here. I would die if they made a movie about Mongo. Yuck....Originally posted by Sisto Kid

I can't see them exsposing one of CN more popular shows main charechters to that. Especially since little kids love scooby and what if they watch this or somethin.
Well most kids don't really watch HB:AAL, so I think the parody would be OK. Nothing to really complain about. Besides, with many of the jokes done through innuendos (at least in the two eps we saw), things should sort themselves out.
StrangerAtaru: Just another one of those weirdo lurker guys with a screwed up mind and a Zako army at his command
That's true, Stranger. Besides, since no one has really seen this episode yet, I don't think people should jump to conclusions.
The bottom line shouldn't be "Is CN messing with a sacred cow?" but rather, "Is it funny?"
I have this gut feeling it's gonna be a scream.
"AVENGEEERRRR!!! My personal digital assistant! Get ready to feel...the power...of...ATTORNEY!!!"
LMAO!!!
I think out of respect for William Hanna and Joe Barbera these episodes shouldn't air. I also have a gut instinct that they won't air. Also out of respect for the charechter they shouldn't air. It might be funny but its something that I just shouldn't happen. You might be surprised my 6 year old cousin somehow watches midnight run. Scooby is his favorite so what if he happens to see HB:aal I dont what him getting any ideas.
Well, he shouldn't be watching ADULT Swim, anyway.![]()
Using a well-known character like this is nothing new, guys. This is extremely tame compared to some of the stuff I've seen MadTV do with Rudolph, Wallace & Grommit, Paddington, and quite a few others.
Yes I agree but i said midnight run. Still other kids might be watching.
Jimmy isn't a reject..................yet.
BTW, Birdman has had 2 voice actors within Williams Street, and a different one for On-Air. So that's 3 alone for CN. He's currently voiced by Gary Cole on HB:AAL.
One thing I notice about Harvey Birdman is they use their own cast, and don't borrow from previous shows. For example, they use Stephen Colbert (from The Daily Show) for the voice of Reducto, and coming soon is Michael McKean (from SNL) as the voice of Spyro. Same goes for minor characters. Hadji, Jonny and Dr. Zin were most recently voiced by Rob Paulsen, Quinton Flinn, and Clyde Kusatsu. HB:AAL used Dee Bradley Baker, Wally Wingert, and Billy West respectively.

....time out. Spyro? As in Spyro the Dragon? Or is this another Spyro that I'm totally unfamiliar with?
What you call Courage, is it not just Pride?
What you think is Love, could it not be just Lust?
Has your want for Friendship ever been blinded by your Wrath?
Does your thirst for Knowledge ever get tainted by Greed?
Does your sense of Reliability ever come short and become Sloth?
Is it truly Sincerity...or merely Envy?
Is it truly Hope that you seek or are you just a victim of Gluttony?
Where are your Savers...?

-According to The Straight Dope, rumor has it that the reason Casey Kasem was let go was due to conflicts over script changes. When Casem became a vegetarian, he asked that Shaggy do the same. In the later Scooby Doo episodes, Shaggy doesn't eat meat. Hanna-Barbera agreed with Casem. When the direct to video movies came around, the script called for Shaggy to eat shrimp gumbo. Casem balked, and was fired. Warner Brothers now handles the Scooby Doo licensing, and may have influenced letting go the DJ. It's just an FYI, and it's just a rumor. http://www.straightdope.com/mailbag/mscooby.html
Never before have I seen such a blatant example of "It's always funny until it's about you."I think out of respect for William Hanna and Joe Barbera these episodes shouldn't air. I also have a gut instinct that they won't air. Also out of respect for the charechter they shouldn't air.
PUH-LEASE. If Barbera cared, there wouldn't have been The Scooby Doo Project, or Bravo-Dooby-Doo, or Big Game 27's Halftime show, or the Scooby ads that ran at late night.
Why does it matter WHAT show it makes fun of? Comedy is comedy. For example, I like the Powerpuff Girls, but I wouldn't care if they were the subject of a Birdman episode(though they won't). It would probably be a very funny episode.
Am I the only one that finds the controversy of Shaggy's "reputation" somewhat ridiculous? I mean, really, he's not the Pope, or Ghandi, or Martin Luther King. Plus, everyone always assumed Shaggy was a pothead beatnik anyway, right?
Tonight, on a very special Harvey Birdman...Originally posted by Matt Wilson
