Drastically changing Adult Swim
Adult Swim was just fine. It just needed tweeking on what shows to mix up and perhaps to be run an hour earlier so that people don't have to stay up so late to watch it. Saturdays are a bad idea. Most people go out or watch other shows on Saturdays. And for the one who wrote if you can't stay up to watch it then buy a vcr. I agree to a point but when it comes to ratings taping it will show were not there watching it so the whole premise of the show will go bye bye. Cancellations will be at hand once again and shows we can't follow will be put in their place. Re-runs people, re-runs. So we'll end up not watching again and maybe running to another network and watching something else. Network people need to take their time to figure out what to do. I know we have got those indivuduals 'there are many on these forums' who have the mentality of I want it and I want it now! Usually in our desire to fullfill the request things are done with tons of mistakes. The network should start making their suggestions to the viewers first and having us vote on what we would like done. That way it can be done fairly and accurately. It would leave out less chance of mistake. As for editing material. why not run the less controversial material at the earlier hour and leave the rest for later. Might take the edge off and editing might be less. Adult swim was a great idea take time to work on it and make it better.

You don't have to post the same thing twice. This post doesn't need its own topic.
Anyway, this is just an expansion, but of different sorts. Sure people do other things on Saturday nights, but some people have to sleep for Sunday nights, too. They have to work around everything, not just a few things, Sunday nights, kids have to go to bed earlier, so if they watch the TVY7 Action night, it's not bad at all, when if they watch the TV14 Comedy night, parents are gonna get mad. Remember, Outlaw Star, Tenchi, 0083, and PC are just filler. WS knows that if anyone's gonna watch it, it's the Toonami audience. At least they should. They have to gradually build up to better animes, because they want an action night, but don't have enough action shows to do that. It's better than showing Cowboy Bebop and Yu Yu Hakusho only, then adding Trigun, then adding Eva, then moving on, because then the shows get overplayed and nobody watches CB and Yu Yu. I expect that Yu Yu will be season based like DBZ, so it'll basically be the DBZ of the block. Kinda funny, because it comes from the same dubbers. But all they need is time. In that time, they'll lower the Toonami filler, and increase the new anime, such as Eva, Trigun, and more. After the end of Outlaw Star's run, expect a replacement. After Tenchi Universe, I'd expect a new show. And, I'd also expect alot of timeslot rotation when the new shows kick in.

It -is- season based, but since it's weekly, noone will really notice. The first season is 21 episodes, which will run without repeating for at least 5 months.

Not really. TV ratings are measured by Nielsen. There is no way Cartoon Network knows who is tuning into their shows and when and what demographic is watching. A few randomly chosen homes are selected to be part of this ratings system from Nielsen (I got lucky enough to participate recently) and taping shows on VCR DO count towards ratings, it's tracked in a separate section of your log.
I'll try being nicer if you try being smarter.

So in reallity the reason most of our shows are being cancelled is because Say Cartoon Network is noting the ratings they are getting from Nielsen. So when we get lazy and don't watch our shows and think no one is noticing, the shows get cancelled and we go on forums to try to save them when we should have been watching and taping anyway. Ironic isn't it.

Actually, they don't care what you or I are watching. They care what Neilsen Families are watching. People are randomly chosen to be Neilsen Families, and the shows they watch are what's tallied for the ratings.
I've only known one Neilson Family in my life so far, and that was an elderly retired couple, staunchly conservative Christians from Appalachia that thought Matlock was the best show ever. And you wonder why shows we like get the can.

I visited Nielsen's website once in the past, and learned that there are about 3000 homes that are Nielsen households. They also send out journals to people that let them keep track of who's watching what, so there may be more who affect the ratings each week. I got to keep track of my viewing habits for one week for them in a journal, but I don't know how many people get to participate in that each week. Trying to find out more about Nielsen is about as hard as trying to find out more info about the business in the Game.
But my point is that you never know who is a household and who gets those journals, so I don't think trying to save a show hurts. Heck, the drive to save Star Trek and other shows have worked!

I did see the game. Good movie. It's true though it doesn't hurt.

Right. This is what kept Babylon 5 going at first, and in the end (there nearly wasn't a Season 5).

Networks
You need the networks to plug the shows better. Good timeslots help. Their dropping the ball. Babylon 5 was a good show. So were many others. Many have been sacrificed. We have gotten lazy ourselves we keep expecting others to complain for us. We need to complain for ourselves and pass the mission on. So many people reading these boards, are we just reading. How will we ever get things done. We wanted faster information but we forget to contribute. Can't complain if you don't participate.
