Invader Zim Canned - AS oppurtunity knocking?

    Like This Thread!
Well, it seems Nickelodeon has decided to can the most original and strangely funny TV show ever made. If you haven't seen this show, there's something wrong with you ^^;. However, this could be great new for Adult Swim. This show fits EXACTLY with the sunday-night lineup. Anyone want to write letters to Williams Street with me?

FYI, It seems Nick wanted Jhonen Vasquez to tone down his work, and he refused.

Actually, according to the story over on the AniGen board, Nick didn't want to pay the writers residuals, and they said "Screw it" and quit. Either way, thanks a lot Nickelodeon! You've completely lost my respect this time

    From WED:

Seems that Nickelodeon has piled onto the DC Editorial bandwagon: When all else fails, blame the terrorists for canceling good product.
I suppose that after September 11th, anything with a point of view which deviated excessively from that of John "Enron" Ashcroft, George "Enron" Bush or "Dick" Enron Cheney was bound to go by the wayside, but this one made me sadder than most.

Nickelodeon just told the crew of "Invader Zim" that the show is cancelled with a capital C after they wrap episode #26.

Seems that the execs in NYC were all too scared of the dark "Goth" nature of the show. They're afraid that it will convince children to become violent and kill their peers. No kidding, this is one of their reasons. Yeah!

Start taping the shows now because they're also going to go back in and cut several "offensive" sections out of them.

Oh, but don't worry, because they'll have new episodes of Jimmy Neutron, Bland Genius ready to go to fill in for Zim.

Nickelodeon: raising a nation of *******.

I keep saying this on every board: ZIM IS NEVER COMING TO CN!!

......but Jhonen himself always could. I wonder how he would write an Aqua Teens episode?

I agree it is an opportunity. I seriously doubt, AOLTIMEWARNER owned, Cartoon Network will pick up, Paramount owned, Nick's Invader Zim. But I could see Paramount moving Invader Zim to MTV.

I'd love to see MTV ditch some of their lousy gen-x game shows and air some animation. If it is going to be like the mess they made of the Daria marathon, then forget I made this suggestion.

The Daria marathon was indeed a mess. A great show, of course, but only aired in the wee hours of late night until early morning. Anyway, I recorded them all, thank the Heavenly Lord.

Nickelodeon is also a nice mess. I'm guessing they'll show more Rugrats episodes instead of Zim. Why don't they just start calling the channel "The Rugrats Channel" like they did in the late seventies by calling Nickelodeon "The Pinwheel Channel"?

I hated NICK ever since they canceled the best of the Nicktoons and Pete & Pete. Who cares anymore, all we do is get disappointed by them constantly. It's very depressing.

Goodbye SB and Zim, we had a great time watching you.

Okay, Nick did something this disgusting because they are the following:

    Drunks
    Fools
    Dolts
    Idiots
    Pot Dealers
    Child Molesterers
    Grave Robbers
    Mental Institiution Paients
People Who Jump In Frount Of Cars and Sue The Drivers
    Lousey Decision Makers
    Cheap, Cheap, CHEAP!
    Crackheads
    Butt-Pirates

Or, to sum it all up:
    Evil
I think Scooby-Doo is knida over-rated and all of the HB Dogs should be praised.
Wouldn't it be great if their could be more Peanuts specials on DVD?
It was just what my career needed - I was at the top and now I'm at the bottom.
