Is AS Going to Promote Bleach or What? (Yes, they just did last night.)

    Like This Thread!
September 9 is right around the corner, and yet I have not seen any promos for Bleach (or Trinity Blood). Are the guys at Adult Swim even going to promote these series or are they just going to waste their money on more promos for Metalpocalypse and reruns of Futurama? It seems like they don't even care about anime anymore, they just show it for ratings and think that everyone keeps up with the news and just somehow knows that Bleach is coming. I keep seeing promos for their original stuff but not Bleach. What's going on? Is Mike Lazzo pulling his "I hat anime lol don't make ads for it" crap again or is it just that AS doesn't give a rat's ass, as long as the show airs?

EDIT: As of August 30, 2006, AS has started showing the Bleach promo. Time to eat your soul.

And the stupid thing is, the promos for Metalpocalypse are some of the most irritating things I've ever seen. The guy screaming for 20 seconds is absolutely idiotic.

But the thing is, they work(so far).

As for Bleach and Trinity Blood, I wouldn't be surprised if we see ads this weekend.

    I would. It's still 3 weeks away.

What, so promoting a premiere that's three weeks away is too early? Then you tell me what too late is.

In my opinion, Williams St. would rather waste money and time showing some idiot scream his head off for 20 seconds or Tom and the mayor doing some idiotic dance and fondling each other instead of showing promos for a show that's actually worth watching. This attitude they have towards anime is pathetic.

And yet, they still keep getting anime.

    Hmm...

It's not too early, but for anime it would be early. Shin Chan promos began 2 weeks ago. And I think 1 week prior is too late.

Well of course they would. Regardless of quality of show, a network will prefer to promote a show that they made, or aided in making, rather than a show they imported.

I don't expect much advertising until the 6th episode.

Ratings(at least the first week so far), proved the ads are working. Even women are watching. And this is such an un-women show.

People actually watch a show about "mermaid murder" or whatever...? Back on topic, Bleach needs to get some advertising soon or it's going to fail... Maybe once they're done advertising Shin-chan...

Oh joy. Another "Adult Swim doesn't advertise anime" thread. These are getting as mundane and annoying as the "Toonami sucks right now!" threads. -_-'

It's been stated multiple times in other topics on this forum that Metalpocalypse had the best premiere of any Adult Swim original.

And typically most networks advertise shows 2 weeks or so in advance, any earlier and it's usually just teasers (which Cartoon Network as a whole hasn't really done since Tenchi Muyo).

Frankly, at this point I don't give a damn what promos, if any, they make for the series. It'll still get the exact same ratings even if they promote it during Monday Night Football or Big Brother or whatever, so that, along with these AS-advertising *****fests threads, have made me stop caring.

Hell, even when AS DID advertise during their most popular shows the ratings never went up that much anyway. At this point, I'd just accept the fact that Bleach and Trinity Blood (as well as pretty much every anime AS would pick up, except maybe Voltron or Robotech) will never be blockbuster hits in the demographic they want or need the shows to be blockbusters in. I mean, AS Saturdays still utterly destroys the vast majority of its competition anyway.

Has it ever been said just how much CN pays for the rights to an anime series?

Always wondered, especially after the stuff about the IFC (which is televised to a much smaller amount of homes) managing to outbid them for series.

As much as Bleach could use some advertisement, I think Trinity Blood needs it more. I mean, not may people know of the anime, which is a shame because it’s really good.

Anyway, I wouldn’t be surprised if AS airs some promos soon… and I also wouldn’t be surprised if they combine the two, and Eureka 7, and call it “Action Saturday” Premieres.

Is AS going to promote Bleach? Of course not. What they're going to do is wait and let the show air at 12:30, and then whine when no one watches.

    AKA- Buisness as usual.

An AS complaint thread couldn't be complete without a Beatdigga post.
