What Should and Shouldn't be on Adult Swim

    Like This Thread!
Home Movies definately, back to 2 episodes
Baby Blues okay show, later time slot
Aqua Teen Hunger Force definately, more episodes too!
The Brak Show pretty good, but some episodes suck
    Sealab 2021 another good show
SGC2C Adult Swim's worst show in my opinion, it doesn't make any sense an isn't very funny
Cowboy Bebop Anime doesn't fit in Adult Swim, but according to Sat's new lineup, it's going to. I like Anime but it shouldn't be there

I really like everything on Adult Swim...except for Home Movies and Baby Blues. Don't get me wrong, they're both funny, but it seems like Williams' Street's stuff is a lot funnier to me. Maybe I'm just one of those types who doesn't think a show is funny if it's understood by more than half the people who watch it ( like Monty Python, Invader Zim, etc ).

SPC2C Worst show? Without space ghost, we wouldn't have AS at all. And the back to bak home movies were a bit much. I'm glad we have another show filling in the 10:30 slot.

Home MoviesI really like it, 2 eps. please
Baby BluesNot very good, but could take a later spot
ATHFNever seen it, don't want to
The Brak ShowHaven't seen it, but if it's like SGC2C, then it might be ok
Sealab 2021Once again, haven't seen it
SGC2CNot horrible, just not the greatest thing ever made
Cowboy BebopNani? Stick the best anime ever last on the lineup??Switch it with Baby blues please, or, well, it's going to saturday anyway, so whatever.

Smily reviews are all the rage!

Home movies: occaisonally a good episode, others, i just plain don't like. (I'm looking forward to next week's. Even got me excited)
Baby blues: It's Ok, adds some variety, a little on the predictable side.
ATHF: I hope you can see this, because I'm doing it as hard as I can!
Brak: The first few episodes were OK, but the show's getting old fast.
    Sealab: Best...new...series...ever
SGC2C: Best TV show ever. Better than kung-fu sex!
Cowboy bebop: One of the best animes ever. Is good, ja?

Hour long HM block: too much.
Brak's singing: Annoying now. 3 Hams will kill him is best.
Real folk blues editiing: uhh...are they getting hurt? What's going on?

Who made you the supreme authority of Adult Swim?

Nothing "should" or "shouldn't" be on the block. Everything has been picked with delicacy, to suit all tastes, from improv (Home Movies) to silliness (Williams Street's shows, Mission Hill) to sitcoms (Baby Blues, The Oblongs), and now to action (all of Saturday).

Williams Street only picks shows that will get them the highest ratings possible, and not because some network dumped the shows on them. That's why you WON'T be seeing The Critic, Duckman, Freakazoid, and any show that is incapable of renewal, on the block. Adult Swim can't survive if it can't attract advertisers.

Rest assured, advertisers will flock to Saturdays like they did to South Park's "*****" episode.

I know it means $$$ in the bank, but one thing I am not too crazy about on Adult Swim is more anime. A few hand picked anime series is welcome, but not a lot. I'd rather see them showcase adult animation from Europe.
I'll try being nicer if you try being smarter.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that what happened with Home Movies, Baby Blues, Mission Hill, and the Oblongs?

    Uh, no.

UPN didn't dump Home Movies on them. UPN didn't even care about the show.

And neither did WB. WB would rather see Baby Blues' second season burned in a fireplace for all they care.

Williams Street saved the shows from demise and is giving them another chance on the air. It's not like WB came up to them saying "YOU MUST PLAY THIS." These decisions were all Williams Street.

Now if you want to REALLY know what does and doesn't belong in Adult Swim:

    The Sunday block belongs.
    The Saturday block does not.

*In referance to Matt Williams' last post*
Ah. I misinterperated. What I meant was that the networks who originally had the shows didn't care about them, and just dumped them off on anyone who would take them.

Networks are never like that. Usually they charge high prices to let their shows go to rival networks.

That's why you don't see Duckman or The Critic on AS. Also because they wouldn't net any ratings whatsoever..

Ah... the Critic. It's possible it might net some ratings. If it was after a fairly popular AS show... let's say "SGC2C" or "Home Movies," then it could possibly find it's audience.

Speaking of the midnight run, what the hell is up with that? They show edited TV-Y7 shows at midnight? It used to make sense when they showed Gundam Wing uncut, but now its just a waste of space, no one will stay up that late just to watch edited anime.

And NOW there putting edited TV-Y7 shows on Adult Swim. Tell me how that makes sense.

    Anime Ruins Adult Swim

Heres what doesn't make sense they're suppose to have a fine mix of shows (HM=improv, William Street's stuff="silliness", and anime=action) but they have TONS of anime at cartoon network already and most the stuff is edited. But Cartoon Network, nor many other channels, have animation that is improv or "silly" they shouldn't even market anime under the title Adult Swim. Personally, to me it makes me think of Home Movies, the Brak show, Sealab 2021, and AQHF; I mean even the promos with Aqua Man and Captain Linger and comedic. Anime should simply put on the Midnight Run if they wanna market it to adults.
