I hadn't even realized that The Venture Brothers was back at the 10:00pm slot. How fortuïtous that I passed by CN after American Dad ended. I hadn't seen that episode in a while. Shaved Bigfoot. Fantastic.
*sees that promotional with Peter having some unpleasantly located sweat dabbed*
I really, really could do without that.
*wishes he could vomit*
I would make a terrible bullimic.

...People avoided the stuff that was actually NEW on Saturday? Wha?
Ya know, Jasmine puts up with way too much crap from Huey...
I liked that AS ad where people watch AS every night except Wednesday (South Park), Friday (drinking), and Saturday (more drinking).
Good TGTTM Season 2 promo too.

Well it sorta matches mine, except that I dont watch Adult Swim on Sunday, I watch Monday,Tues, and Thurs and South Park and comedy central owns my wednesday. Friday is accurate for me (nuff said lol). Saturday isn't accurate though as i'm always tuning in for Eureka and inuyashaOriginally Posted by Rabi~en~Rose

Looks like E7 isn't hitting it with anyone.
Family Guy's ratings seem pretty soft for what was supposed to be a new episode, but maybe it's just that successful where anything less than a million is a letdown.
I believe Fox aired the same exact episode earlier that night.Originally Posted by Beatdigga
Well, AS blamed the NBA Playoffs, if that means anything.

I wonder what kind of ratings Samurai 7 gets on IFC, if I had a guess the numbers are probably alot lower then the saturday lineup of AS. I think perhaps the people running AS are spoiled, and dream only of high profit margins. How else could they get outbid on a show to a network that probably gets 1/50th the viewership?
AS should learn to be happy with the ratings it gets for action, or scrap action all together and let some other networks pick up some of the action.

I'm very surprised that GitS didn't make the top 3, what with the storyline in its windup episodes.
As to E-7, while I personally like the show, I can also see why it's having problems. Contrasting the early E-7 episodes with the early Inuyasha, there's a big difference in that IY spent its first few weeks concentrating on the core relationship between Inuyasha and Kagome, with everybody else including Sesshomaru being just scenery against which the Inu-Kag relationship played out. Other major characters didn't enter and Sessho didn't get development until the Inu-Kag relationship had been established as the foundation that gave viewers a reason to care about what happens next.
E-7, by contrast, has introduced too much, too soon and obscured the central Renton-Eureka relationship. They should have concentrated on those 2 kids getting to know each other for a while before bringing in all the other characters and situations.
I'm fascinated by Eureka and she is the main reason I'm liking this show. She's got the Rei mystery coupled with a sense of engagement that Rei lacked. Everybody seems to be attached to Eureka but she has really only responded to Renton's overtures. This would have been fertile ground for a series of relationship-development episodes focused on the Renton-Eureka pairing.
As it is, all I can do is hope E-7 starts picking up interest as it continues to develop. I'd hate to see a situation where AS drops E-7 midway through because of crap ratings. They've stuck with low-rated anime before, but those were only 13- or 26-episode series. E-7 is long. (^_*)
That's weird. I know they have the Venture Brothers DVD Extra-thingy on AS Fix, but why get rid of Sealab for the week? Why not have both?

I think it's cause they only have 8 slots.
Except, apparently, on Fridays from 6PM-6AM. Then they have unlimited slots. :POriginally Posted by Swordfish_II

Oi, Eureka 7 OP and EDs.![]()

While the 3rd OP's visuals aren't that great, the song is still awesome.
Well, you know considering its Saturday night and those are all reruns the ratings aren't that bad, exept for Eureka 7 of course.

Now you know how huge Lupin fans like myself feel. We got the same run of episodes over and over and not all of us have money for DVDs so AS basically totally screwed us. It actually got good ratings for it's horrible time slot. But, it's pretty obvious they don't much care about airing further episodes of it.Originally Posted by herbkir
And at least Eureka is only 50 episodes. Lupin went to nearly 150. And that's just the second series. Then there's the first series, the third series, the numerous OVAs/movies/TV specials...
I doubt Geneon even wants much for the further episodes either. Lord knows they're not making much profit off just the DVDs, I'm sure they'd be happy with any TV deal. And if not that, they could always go to Animeigo, Funimation, or Streamline for the movies, the two eps Streamline translated, OVAs, and TV specials.
I'm sorry, I kinda' got off on a rant there. It just angers me so much how badly Lupin gets shafted by AS.
