k, I have to go study for two exams on monday, for Masterpieces of Lit it's the difference between a B or a C, because the mid term was helf when another mid-term right before it, so I had to run from the other side of the campus to the other. And I scored a 72 because I was pressed for time, and the guy wants exact detail, and by exact detail I mean memorized passages from greek classics as detail, but I knew the stuff I just didn't give him exact detail, and the mid term was 1/3 of the grade and the final is the other 1/3 and the quizzes/tests/extra credit(all of which I did good on) is another 1/3 so right now I'm boarderline C+/B- that's not counting attendance(but I did attend every class)...so it's pretty much the same thing again, but it's psychology instead of math this time around....but Psych starts at 8 and ends around 10, but lit begins at 10 so I have to finish psych faster so that I can get to Lit, but I still have to run because it's located on the other other side of the campus.
so after I'm done I'm going to shoot the architect who designed the school...then again he may be already dead because the school is like really really old, in which case I shall ressurect them with a blood bonding cerimony and then shoot them...but instad of a normal gun it would be with a magic gun with magic bullets that require the blood of were-wolf babies to work right
so in end point:

Spoiler:
Enjoy this episode, one of the best episodes of Eva, comedy wise for sure.
Did somebody get bleeped?
Oh Shinji, look at the awkward pre-marital situations you've gotten yourself into...
I thought that at first, but I think it was a sound effect from their DDR machine.
Agreed, this is one episode in particualr that I preferred the manga.Originally Posted by Not Romey

The evas with their legs sticking out of the ground was almost LOL worthy. I liked the episode, but it could have been breakdance fighting, oh well.

I have to wonder if Gainax will one day run out of ways to tweak and repackage the existing anime... and if that ever happens, would they ever consider making an OVA series based off the manga? An anime based on a manga based on an anime, oy. As utterly pointless and silly as that would be, and as much as hardcore fans of the anime might complain, it'd guarantee them many more years of Eva milking, I'm sure. Years later, they could package the redone anime spliced together with the original, and sell it as "Eva Remix," or whatever.Originally Posted by cadence

Yah know, I just have one question. What happened to Asuka's nipples? We saw more then enough of her breasts that they should have been quite visible twice in this episode, especially when she is in a towel after getting out of the shower. I know she has them, I've seen End of Eva. But somehow in the series, she must have misplaced them somewhere.
Of course, I'm mostly kidding.

mostly
I'd buy an "EVA remix" for sure. I saw the anime first and read the manga second but I still prefer the manga in terms of the way the story is layed out, so an anime based on Sadamoto's version of the story would be a dream from meOriginally Posted by Not Romey

You know, speaking of End of Eva, I'm sure many of you might feel the same way but honestly.I know she has them, I've seen End of Eva.
EoE was one of the worst experiences of my life. I was NOT in the "state of mind" I should have been in when I saw that movie, if you catch my drift. By the time the "Laying me down" song started and that like 20 minute scene of epileptic flashes galore was on the screen I had literally started to lose my mind.
By the end of the damn thing my brain just kinda turned into a gelatinous mush, and I was comatose for about 10 days.
This episode is the first Eva I've watched since that fateful day almost 3 years ago when I checked out EoE for the first time. Maybe **** will make more sense to me this time around.

Well, with everyone talking about the manga, I'm sorry I overslept to give my usual anime-and-manga-comparisons. Oh well, better late than never.
Differences:
-The anime’s version of Asuka meeting Rei indicates it to be their first encounter. The manga already had Rei present during Asuka’s first appearance at NERV.
-Manga Asuka is a little more b---- to Rei, calling her the Commander’s pet, and resorting to slapping the girl for her lack of concern. Shinji blocks Asuka’s hand, angering her. She runs away. Manga Shinji admits to Rei his uncertainty about ever getting used to the new pilot. Manga Rei replies that if she’s ordered to, she will.
-Kaji’s come-on to Ritsuko in front of Misato happens in the manga, but Manga Kaji isn’t as cool to her as his anime counterpart. He shows some actual fear before Misato (and how could he not be, since manga Misato actually punches a hole through the wall!).
-Manga Asuka does this ‘sweet girl’ act in front of her superiors (what Shinji calls ‘personality no.2’).
-The manga continues the rest of the 5th Angel battle. Shinji’s EVA fires bullets at one Angel, while Asuka thrusts her lance into the core of the other. But both the Angels’ core have a healing factor. The twin Angels grab the two EVAs and thrust them into an on-air collision.
-Unlike the anime, Gendo is present. He is there at the screening of Shinji and Asuka’s failed mission, telling them their job is to fight the angels.
-Unlike the anime, Shinji and Asuka do not bicker at the screening. This happens when they walk outside, where Asuka stomps Shinji’s foot, accusing him of making her look bad in front of the Commander.
-An added scene has Kaji inviting Shinji and Asuka for lunch. Asuka is angry that Shinji had to come along.
-The manga does have Shinji and Asuka living together, but manga Asuka does not move into Misato’s apartment yet. Instead, Misato orders the two pilots to live in a two-bed room with a bathroom (complete with a camera for Misato to monitor them). The two kids are shocked. Manga Asuka protests to Misato her fear that Shinji will get all horny and attack her to satisfy his sexual needs. Misato calms that fear, saying the boy doesn’t have the guts (besides, thinks Shinji, Asuka will kill him if he did). The two kids are angry, though Shinji finds Asuka a better roommate than Rei (Rei would be too awkward to strike a conversation with).
-The manga includes a scene where Asuka comes out of the shower wrapped up in a towel. She heads over to Shinji, freaking him out with her willingness to expose herself to him. She does so, revealing she's wearing clothes underneath. She cracks up over her joke, but Shinji has his revenge, saying that Misato is probably watching all this (actually, Misato is asleep at the monitor).
-The manga counterparts of Toji, Kensuke, and Hikari do not visit Shinji or witness his training with Asuka. This training occurs at NERV in the manga.
-The manga showcases the beginning of Shinji and Asuka’s dance training. They end up doing different steps (the crane and the monkey).
-An added scene has a post-workout Shinji and Asuka encountering Gendo at the hallway. With shaking legs, Shinji invites Gendo to lunch. Gendo coldly turns him down.
-An added scene portrays the aftermath of this encounter. Asuka asks Shinji if he has a father complex. Shinji admits that he hates his father, but he doesn’t want to. Asuka admits that she doesn’t have a father in the normal sense. She's actually a test-tube baby her mother instrumented using a well-chosen sperm. That explains why she’s the best (in her view). Shinji is uncomfortable with all this sperm-talk (and wonders how a dysfunctional person could come from such a great donor). Asuka says she doesn’t need a father. Because of her chosen background, if she defeats the Angels to the acclaim of everyone, she will be happy.
-The manga’s version of Asuka’s bedtime situation with Shinji is different. First, she doesn’t end up sleeping next to Shinji (with Shinji attempting to get some). Second is an addition to her ‘Momma’ line: ‘why did you have to die?’ Unlike his anime counterpart, manga Shinji is somewhat glad to learn Asuka is a normal child.
-Rei does upstage Asuka in both versions, but the manga portrays the aftermath differently. First, Manga Asuka is calmly passive to the possibility of her replacement (remember, whining about it would ruin her 'nice girl' facade to Misato). Second, the setting is different; the manga has it occur at a small garden at the Geofront outside NERV HQ. Third, it is Shinji who has a word with Asuka (unlike the anime, where Asuka instantly comes back without hearing anything from Shinji). He tells Asuka that it's wrong to put on this facade. Afterwards, Asuka returns to her shared room with Shinji. She destroys the survelliance camera with a kick, then demands Shinji to train with her. Shinji submits with a smile, admiring her drive (one of the manga covers show the two waltzing in tux and gown).
-An added scene has Misato, Ritsuko, Rei and Kaji pondering about Shinji and Asuka’s failure to synchronize. Replacing Asuka for Rei is considered, but Kaji thinks another night is what the two kids need to succeed.
-Kaji doesn't attempt to be forward with Misato at this point. Manga Misato is very slap happy with Kaji. When Asuka damages the survelliance camera, Kaji persuades Misato to leave the two pilots alone. He then mentions that the two of them are alone as well. With this come-on, Misato slaps Kaji, telling him she hasn’t forgiven him yet for past crimes (Kaji smiles). The second slap comes after seeing the two pilots successfully defeat the 5th Angel(s), Misato hugs Kaji in victory, then realizing who she’s hugging, Slap!.
-An added scene has Misato coming into the room at the morning of the 5th Angel(s) return. She is shocked to see Asuka and Shinji lying asleep on the floor after an exhaustive workout. She drags them to their EVAs. She is also fearful of failure, unaware of the practice.
-Manga Asuka congratulates Shinji for his help (that is, after tearing him up for his poor landing). They both fall asleep.
Comments:
-My, Kensuke uses his camera everywhere! You have to wonder if he has any ulterior motive.
-Y’know, with an episode like this, it’s hard to believe in the overall tone of this show.
-Take special notice about Kaji’s comment about Ritsuko.
-Does anyone know the musical piece for the battle?

Haha. I just did a search for End Of Evangelion on the forum and I found a post I wrote almost 3 years ago when I first downlo......obtained EoE back during my first year of college.
That was a lot of fun to read. I talked about how I was afraid to watch it again now that I understood everything because I was afraid of what kind of dreams my brain would create if I watched it again.
But the thing is, I never really did understand it.
I understood everything that was happening up until EoE. And when I read all the theories of EoE on this forum years ago, that's exactly what I read.
Theories.
It seemed like noone could say for certain what the flying **** happened in that movie.
Is that the beauty of it? Or is there somewhere that the creators actually discuss in depth what the hell happened during and after 3rd Impact?
