Gee... and here I thought it was pretty obvious: Brak is actually caught in a temporal loop, see, and while he's there, he's channeling Lucille Ball, who has her wires crossed with Nancy Reagan.
As for the other half of the equation: Zorak is caught in that same fershlugginer loop. And who is he channeling? Desi Arnaz' accent + Ronnie Reagan's cluelessness = Poppy!
But that's merely my opinion, that means it's wrong.

P.S. I actually like Ronnie, so no right-wing BBQs, okay...

My guess is that it's a chronological order thing. Think about it: Brak Show follows Braks' and Zoraks' life when they're younger, the original sixties show tells us that the two left home to become space pirates along with Sisto and SGC2C takes place after that when everybody's jobless (SGC2C), until they decide to start a talk show. Since they make numerous references to the classic series in SGC2C, that theory seems to make sense. Of course, this IS Williams street, so I suppose there's no real continuity or anything. It explains why Mom and Dad don't show up in the other series though.

My guess is that Brak's Mom is really Morris the cat, in his 8th life. In his 9th life, he is born at the end of time, and becomes a leutenant in the L.O.A.T.N.F*, and ultimatly helps win the battle that destroys the universe.
