    Freakazoid! on Adult Swim?

    Like This Thread!
I was curious, how many of you guys would like to see "Freakazoid!" air on Adult Swim? Personally, I'd LOVE to see the show in primetime. Look at it this way: the show could be "filler" for a while when some shows are on hiatus if they have no new episodes or whatever. "F!" could be removed from its early weekday morning slot and moved into the Adult Swim slot. There, it would get much more exposure. Who knows? Maybe we'll finally get new episodes some how. Stranger things have happened.

As far as new episodes, from what I've heard, Paul Rugg had planned to cancel(?) the show after the third season anyway, but Kellner beat him to the punch, while in production of season 3.

I don't think he wants to get everyone back in to do it. I also don't think Spielburg will shell out the dough to make the cartoon(the references and parodies must've cost a fortune in royalty fees).

But I see no problem with AS syndication. Maybe it could air after The Popeye Show or something. Or when AS extends to 9 pm, maybe it can wedge in there. We'll have to see what they have planned for Thursday nights in the future.

Basically what I mean is, it could replace a half hour of "Sealab 2021 and The Brak Show" in January until newer episodes are produced. It would be nice to see "F!" get another chance to get an audience.

One of my regrets was never getting into "F!" when I was younger. Sure I watched it when Kids' WB! launched, but that was in 95' or 96', when I was 10 or so. I didn't really get some of the jokes back then, but after viewing some episodes in the past year or so, I find the show very humorous. It's definitely deserves a spot on Adult Swim. Hopefully, someone from Cartoon Network is reading this.

How's the Third of Never? ;)

    Personally...

Having never been a Freakazoid fan, thinking the show was completely retarded... if it ever ended up on Adult Swim... I'd probably stop watching (well, watch it even less regularly than I do now :X ) I just never liked freakazoid... and the couple episodes I attempted to suit through were so stupid that I could feel my brain cells actually killing themselves to stop the torture =X

...but that's just my opinion... =)

    Don't you people understand!?!

In one episode, Freakazoid chases Caveguy through Comic-Con, until he is stopped by one of the network suits and forced to sit down at a Kids WB panel.

Lots of people ask Freakazoid questions about Batman, what Batman's new season will be like, and whether Pearl Jam will appear in Batman.

Freakazoid tells the audience to ask those kind of questions to Paul Dini, but Paul quickly runs out, leaving Freakazoid alone. Everyone else begins to leave as well when they find out only Freakazoid is there.

Only one man is left, with a disturbing eye and neck bulge, who says Freakazoid is really popular in the mental institutions.

And you call this show stupid?!

    Freakazoid

Freakazoid was pure genius in my opinion, the single best comedic toon in recent years. It still amazes me watching these again and again how much more I "get" now that I am older.
It would be an excellent choice for some Adult Swim filler that I think many adults would find they surprisingly enjoy. This was actually tried before. Back in the early days of the WB they tried showing Freakazoid a few times on Sunday nights, but it never stuck. Adult Swim would probably be a much better enviornment for it though.

I'd love to see F! in place of 'yet another rerun'. The reruns are spoiling Adult Swim right now (I tape AS every Sunday night and watch it through the week but now I can watch the new stuff in less than an hour).

    Freakazoid!

Freakazoid was the best show on Kids WB for a long time. There were days where I'd wake up just to watch it, and then go back to sleep.

To think they once had this kind of quality programming on KWB. Makes me wonder what happened to make it fall so far.

How can you not like Freakazoid!? Maybe you just caught a bad episode or something. One of the things I love about this show is the way they make fun of Hollywood, both modern Hollywood and Hollywood of the past. . . like including Lon Chaney Jr.'s transformation sequence into the werewolf (that one always gets me!), or making Charelton Heston a recurring character as the Huntsman, or actually getting Ricardo Montalban to do a mocking version of Khan! Geez, Freakazoid is one of the funniest cartoons this country has ever produced.

Freakazoid: "Dumb! Dumb! Dumb! Never tell the villain how to trap you in a cage!"
Gutierrez: "You probably shouldn't have helped us build it, either."
    Freakazoid: "I know! Dumb!

Gutierrez: "Revenge is a dish best served with pinto beans and muffins!"

Cosgrove: "You're not a failure kid. It's just that your ideas are silly and dumb"

Douglas Douglas: "You know, Duncan, you're the only one who ever *sees* this blue guy."
    Duncan Douglas: "He's REAL!"
Debbie Douglas: "Well, of course he's real to *you* dear, but that's because you're probably insane."

    Freakazoid

It's not really Adult Swim material, if stacked up against Bebop or Brak or Sealab...but I wouldn't mind seeing it as a buffer between the Popeye block and the Hanna-Barbera block. One a.m. on Sunday night isn't so bad a slot.

They'll likely never resurrect it--but I have a Freakafic at the Story Board that might well be A.S. worthy. Nothing overtly filthy, mind you, though there's a scene where Freakazette flips out that I worried might be a bit over the top for some.....

'Scuse me, Doc, but I think F! would be a perfect fit for AS. Just think about it: humor that shoots right over the heads of kids, fanboy tweaks, and rambling scripts that use the whole super-schtick as an excuse to expose viewers to offbeat humor... I'm surprised he's not dancing next to Aquaman in the bumpers (fun Aquaman, not "Falling Down" JL Aquaman)
Also... No new eps, we know that, but howzabout a reunion show to poke some holes in all these other schmaltzy reunion shows? I would love to know if Steph is getting any residuals...

Well said. Of course, I'm sure no new episodes will be produced, but it would be nice if that would be nice if there were. At least though, if "Freakazoid!" airs on AS, it will get more exposure than it ever did before because the demographics it's targeting are adults, not children. If someone at CN is reading this, they should definitely considering putting "Freakazoid!" in as a filler show, replacing some shows that could go on hiatuses to produce more new episodes.

If Freakazoid aired in or around Adult Swim I'd jump up and down with glee.

I think many of us would.

What I'm wondering though is, in the intro, when the singer says "...So stay tuned to this network" and the television shows the old Kids' WB! logo, do you think they'd change it to an Adult Swim logo? Sure it's a log shot, especially since when "F!" currently bares the KWB logo in the intro, not the CN one. Not really a big deal, just something I had been pondering.
