When was the first time you saw Adult Swim?

    Like This Thread!
For me, I was 11 and at a sleepover, we were watching on CN, probably Ed Edd n Eddy, when suddenly this thing came up that said "No one under 17 allowed" or something. So I said to my friend "Hey! We can't watch that!" He said "My parents are asleep, it'll be fine." So we watched it anyway. It was the Home Movies episode where Coach was trying to hook up with the nurse. I said "Hey, that was a pretty cool show!" But I didn't watch it again... Until about a year and a half ago, when someone said "Hey, you know Family Guy is on Adult Swim now, right?" I was like OMG that's one of my favorite shows! Since then I've fallen in love with Aqua Teen, Home Movies, and Sealab, but Family Guy still remains my number 1 on the block.

You know....that's a good question! I know it was like the first season when it had Tenchi Muyo and Outlaw Star that was two years ago, I think. So, I just going say that was my first time seeing Adult Swim.

Ok this is a long story for me. Anyways it started back in September 2001 when I got a bigger and better cable package. Yes I finally got Cartoon Network. It was about a month later when I had a two days off from school and I watched Cartoon Network and then I saw a promo for Adult Swim at 10 on Thursdays and Sundays and that night was Thursday. So why not go watch the block for a couple of minutes. My eyes hurt from watching Home Movies. The animation was even worse than Ed, Edd, n Eddy.

The first night it was on. And I've watched it ever since.

There will never be another "Arrested Development."

I started watching right from the start....At first,I only watched Cowboy Bebop, but then watched Yu Yu Hakusho and Inuyasha when they started airing(I wish they'd kept Yu Yu Hakusho on AS...I keep missing it in its new timeslot,so now I'm completely lost ...) I also saw some Futurama episodes for the first time('cuz Fox kept changing the timeslot,or pre-empting it...),and enjoyed seeing re-runs of Family Guy...

I'm not necessarily sure of the exact date, though I do remember seeing the old people in the pool. Most clever AS look, ever!xD First show I remember seeing was Home Movies, I think.

Same here, though I really only was watching for Cowboy Bebop.

I believe it was when the SEALAB 2021 episode "Stuck In Time" first aired. My brother had it on his room while he was on the computer. I walked in and happened to catch the bit where Stormy and Quinn had been turned into Jabba the Hutt and Salacious Crumb, and I couldn't stop laughing. I learned over Adult Swim a short time later, but SEALAB was the only show I wound up watching (followed by FAMILY GUY reruns when they first started). I hardly watch Adult Swim anymore, unless I com across a FG or S2021 episode.

I don't really remember. I guess it was when I was small...and I wanted to see some anime...like Cowboy Bebop. It was during a weekend, I believe.

EDIT: Also to watch Space Coast: Coast to Coast.

I caught Adult Swim on its first night back in 2001. All I can remember seeing was the episode of "Brak" where Thundercles' fish died ("What's heaven like?" "Loose women!"), and the "Sealab" episode where White Debbie wanted to have a baby.

Oh, Matt Wilson would be pissed if he heard you diss Ed, Edd, and Eddy's animation, but I have to agree with you. I can't stand the whole squiggly lines animation. Actually, I started watching Adult Swim on the first night it was on as I'd heard about it on the DBZOA forums but I skipped Home Movies as I had seen the show on UPN and thought it was the biggest piece of garbage in the history of television. I didn't think it belonged with all the other cool stuff. I loved the Brak Show and Sealab 2021 and Harvey Birdman when they premiered. And seeing Bebop keep it's original opening, ending, eyecatches, and previews was like the coolest thing I've ever seen at the time. Space Ghost was good, but I was kind of getting tired of it.

When it first started. I watched for Home Movies. I'm not sure if YYH was on at the beginning, but whenever it was on AS I watched it. Since Futurama and FG are on now, I watch it every night (excluding Friday, of course). I now also watch for Robot Chicken and FMA. Sealab is no longer good. Same goes for ATHF. Why does AS keep taking Mission Hill off? It's an awsome show!

My first introduction to Adult Swim was watching episodes of Sealab, The Brak Show, and ATHF on a VHS tape at my friend's house. Why VHS? Well, he had digital cable, and got Cartoon Network. Where as we have cable, and at that time, our provider didnt carry CN (thank GOODNESS it does now). I thought the shows were freakin' hilarious, and made sure whenever we hung out, it was a Sunday night so we could watch the shows...when we weren't playing Halo.

I saw it the night it premiered, and I mainly watched it to see Cowboy Bebop.
