    Adult Swim on DVD

    Like This Thread!
Well the battle to get Batman The Animated Series on DVD in chronological order is over! It was long hard battle but we the fans have won but now I feel a new isssue should be adressed Adult Swim. I mean here you have unique hilarious programming and its not being used to its full advantage, I think Adult Swim DVDs would kick, and I think things like captain linger and the aqaman bootydance would make great bonuses

I dont think you can get an Adult Swim DVD. Well you might, but you would probably cant have Cowboy Bebop on the DVD because its already on its own DVD and is owned by Bandai, I think

When you say Adult Swim DVD, you mean the shows having their own DVD alone? I know there's currently a petition circulating to get Space Ghost Coast to Coast on DVD. Or are you talking about an anthology DVD with diffrent episodes of all the series? I would prefer each show get it's own DVD, and perhaps they could sell the DVDs together in a special edition Adult Swim box set.

I could see the box set now. All red with the block letters ADULT SWIM in white on it, picks of the toons and old people swimming. It would be very eye catching on the shelf!

Well to be honest, I don't think an Adult Swim DVD set would happen. There are a few problems with this:

    1. All the shows are done by different people. You'd be splitting profits about 5-6 ways. It wouldn't make any particular group much money.

    2. Copyrights...CN doesn't "own" all the shows.

    3. Longevity. Adult Swim has been on for only a few months. No way they will invest that much money into it this quick. They don't even have a good idea how much it can make in the long run. Who knows if all of these shows will even last?

Personally I don't want an Adult Swim DVD. Not now. You'll find that most people like specific shows, not the whole block. I have been dealing with this stigma for a long time with my Toonami chat....CCF site....and now this site. People want a DVD filled with "their" show, not all the ones they don't like.

I think a Space Ghost Coast to Coast set would rock. 1-2 seasons per disc. Very cool idea.

    Ain't that the truth, brotha!

The only way I'd like to see a Toonami DVD is if it's an anthology of the wraparounds mixed with The Intruder eight-parter (there were eight parts) and Lockdown (perhaps adding a few new sequences to create story to that event) as well as a completely original computer-animated production, about 45-90 minutes long. Add a few bonuses in it, and you got a decent Toonami DVD.

    Otherwise, don't bother.
What does the X stand for? It's definitely not Extreme. Extreme starts with E.

    Well:

DVDs of individual shows would be better. But it is still a bad idea, as almost all the shows haven't even gathered a FanBase, other than Space Ghost: Coast to Coast and Cowboy Bebop.

Seriously, I wouldn't buy a Brak Show DVD any day.

SGC2C is perfect, Cowboy Bebop is already on DVD.

Too bad Petitions hardly work. Even less chances if it is from Petition Online.

I don't think I would get a Sealab DVD, but I'd like to have Home Movies on DVD and the Brak show. Of course, the way it is right now, they keep rerunning the Brak episodes, so the DVD would only be of value if there were extra features on it.

Post any petions you want here! Naturally, I already signed that one!

Man, you really had my heart leaping with momentary joy when I saw that mock up of the DVD cover. That looks sweet in a classy kind of way!

The credit for that particular piece of art goes to one of my currently out-of-work friends from design school, Grant Little.

He was supposedly going to redesign the Samurai Jack artwork and do something for Dexter's Lab as well...hmmmm, guess I'd better pester him about that now.

Grant was also instrumental in helping out with my site's redesign in October.
