Why would they have any reason to regress?
SC is definitely a huge acquisition for AS. I'm predicting the second coming of Bebop *hopes dubbing is bareable* And when they mean "From the creators of Cowboy Bebop," they definitely mean it.
Anyway, AS has been doing a good job with minimal edits, but with the acquisition of SC that makes me wonder...will AS go back to its old editing ways? If you didn't know, SC is pretty mature (as in, more than TV-14), with heavy language/sex edits, and vol 1 even is labelled Mature. I mean there are whole episodes surrounding brothels, pornography, etc.
So with AS trying to lessen edits, is there anyway AS can fully edit an entire episode? If they try to just skip it, how many are they willing to skip?

Well, with TV standards as they are, I'm just saying Bebop-esque edits might return.

If CN was a broadcast network, then yeah. But, I doubt AS would revert back to the old days.Originally Posted by Seiken Izumi

The only way we will know is to watch and find out. AS has come a long way since 2001 and can clearly push the envelope further than anytime before. Some of the things they got away with in airing FLCL and some interesting visuals and language in Venture Bros. demonstrated that.
In any event, a disucussion on what or how AS might edit Samurai Champloo is nothing if not premature at this point, and quite frankly we don't need to have a thread devolve into alluding to what might be editted.
That said, we have to wait and find out when it airs.
