Adult Swim November - December schedule discussion

    Like This Thread!
Several changes are heading down the pipes for Adult Swim in November. While keeping in mind the schedule tends to change without notice, here’s a quick rundown of the action.

Saturday November 6th Full Metal Alchemist and GiTS: SAC premiere on Adult Swim Action

Sunday November 7th The Squidbillies pilot airs at 11:30 and Super Milk Chan premieres at 12:30

On November 8th Venture Bros joins the weekday strip in the 12:00N slot.

Also on November 8th Wolf’s Rain and Witch Hunter Robin begin airing in the 1AM and 1:30AM slots

Tom goes to the Mayor makes its series premiere, and new episodes of Sealab 2021 continue Sunday November 14th.

    Okay. I think that's it.

Anyway check out the schedule, post thoughts, etc.

Oh and if you see an error in there post it here.

Why are they stripping The Venture Brothers?

    Refering to updated schedule.

I'm guessing this is a ploy to get more people to watch it, but I mean it only a few months ago, and they're only 14 episodes. Plus it doesn't look like they'll be airing the pilot on those runs, so it's really only 13.

It would have been better to run Brak trough at least twice on weeknights before putting VB on.

EDIT: wrote this before Tien put the other thread up. lock please.

MOD EDIT: No need to lock, when we can MERGE!

Venture Brothers coming to weekdays!! That will be great, I love that show. But I don't like Wolf's Rain and Witch Hunter Robin, so I'll be getting more sleep weekdays

The new shows will be fun to watch because there are so many of them. Weekend are going to be very good.

    Not bad

    LANDY'S THOUGHTS:

    FMA and GitS look interesting.
Squidbillies still looks bleh, though knowing its by the ATHF/SG people gives it (a bit of) hope.
I'm not really looking forward to Super Milk Chan but I'll at least give it a shot.
VB in the weekday slot is a good idea for getting more popularity for the show, even if the episode count is...low. As long as it doesn't stay there too long, good news.
    WR and WHR
Tom Goes to the Mayor could go either way.
    Sealab

    ...

+ Venture Bros. going daily (Love the show)
    - Sealab leaving daily (Why can't it get the 12:30 slot or something)

    + More sleep due to...
    - Wolf's Rain at 1AM (I would potentially watch WHR at 1, but with Rain kicking it off, I'm going to bed at 1AM)

+ Sealab being replaced by Venture Bros.
    + GiTS and FMA

    - Squidbillies
    - New Sealabs.
    - The unfunny version of Super Milk Chan
    - Wolf's Rain and WHR replacing Lupin III

FMA and GitS is great, Tom goes to the Mayor could be good or bad. Venture Brothers airing daily, and Case Closed and Lupin leaving is all bad news.

If ATHF was back on weekdays, and CC and Lupin either stayed daily or moved to the Saturday timeslot this schedule would be great.

Or hey, actually use the 2-5AM timeslot. It couldn't hurt to put some different material in there.

Venture Bros. on weekdays. Somehow I saw that coming and I'm glad... SO VERY GLAD. I can't stand Sea Lab 2021 especially after the first season. I'd rather see Brak or HB get more air time but VB is a solid show and very entertaining.

Though you've gotta wonder something... Why have VB on Saturday and weekdays? Or are they replacing Saturday's run with something?

I'm glad for WHR and WR for one reason and one reason alone. Get their reruns over with so we never have to see them on the schedule again.

I'll miss Conan and Lupin but Lupin has been on much longer than any of us expected for it's current run and CC could take a break.

Ideally... They'd air the remaining episodes they have on Saturdays. But I don't expect that to happen... nor to I expect we'll only get one batch of Case Closed even if FUNi has to sell it to CN for peanuts.

I'm surprised they put VB on weekdays, since there's so few episodes. After 3 weeks it's in reruns. I'd prefer to see them rotate Brak or Harvey Birdman or even Space Ghost since Sealab and Aqua teens had their turn.

They probably want to give VB plenty of exposure in order to get the ratings up. They paid a whole lot of money for those 13 episodes... And remember WS series and Birdman are 1/4 hour episodes so by that logic VB would be 26 episodes in comparison.

13 episodes weekly isnt bad. remember Big O (although it only got one run) um...Reign? Kikaider? FLCL? Gundam 0080? VB on weeknights is the closest we'll get to action at 12 we have had in awhile

That's a good idea to put VB on weekdays. Obviously a ploy to get more viewers. As long as they don't run it to death and give it just two or three runthroughs, it'll be fine.

Considering Brak is only 15 minutes long, Brak wouldn't fill many more half hour slots than Venture Bros. As long as the weekday run doesn't last long for now I think it is a good way to get the series more exposure.

+ Tom Goes to the Mayor! (It's from the Mr. Show folks, must have potential)
    + FMA/GITS (Yep)
+ Wolf's Rain/WHR weeknights (I really like both CC and Lupin, but they've held down the slot for 4/5 months and I bet they only appeal to certain groups of fans, it is time other groups of fans got a turn.)
+ Super Milk Chan (This may quickly turn to a minus, but I'm interested to see how anime in the middle of the Sunday line-up goes over.)
+ Home Movies is still on!

    - This doesn't specifically have to do with November, but I'd still like to see things mixed up in the later three hours. Even if they left most of the shows the same for now, it'd be interesting to see how things went with just one of the slots changed.

FMA AND GiTS: SAC look good.
Eh on Squidbillies and Super Milk Chan.
    Yay to VB weekdays.
Don't care for the 1AM slots.
Tom Goes to the Mayor has promise.

Where are the unaired Conan/CC episodes?!? And VB on weekdays? Hey Ws, remember, there's this show called Space Ghost...

    Television Blows. So enjoy it.

I'm rather glad they've put on something different for the last hour weeknights, though I'm probably gonna wait til the last half of the Robin series gets on to start watching again. Wolfs Rain I'll be able to get more out of watching it nightly instead of weekly.

I guess they're out of Inuyasha episodes for this year, stopping at 78.

seeing venture brothers on weekdays soon.. will be great.

i've yet to see a really bad episode of that show, maybe i'll be lucky and the whole 1st season will be totally watchable.
