Most probaly.
I was watching Space Ghost last night. And, I've had the same question pop in my head whenever I've watched it...so....
The creators of Space Ghost Coast to Coast......What are they on? Crack?
This question brought to you by spare time.![]()
Most probaly.
You're cheap, but not as cheap as your girlfriend.
Who did you vote for last year? Can you vote? Can you read? Do you have thumbs? Show me your thumbs!!!
...No not vengance, PUNISHMENT.
no i dont think they are, me and my friend all have similier humor to the space ghost writting style on the show and weve come up with some pretty messed up stuff
another question
i wonder if when they are inrterviewing the guests if that they already have a script worked out or if they ask the random quesions and work around thieresponces.
"Remembering’s dangerous" - the Joker
My guess is that they find out who they can get, then write the ep around the guest, similar to the Bat-themed ep last night. I mean, the way that some of the "interviews" are conducted (such as the Tyra Banks one), it HAS to be written pre-interview.Originally posted by joker

I do love the zaniness of it all, tho. One of my favorite shows.
I dunno what they're on, but I want some.![]()
It's a little of both. According to the folks at alt.fan.space-ghost, some eps have a rough script beforehand. One of these is the Dave Thomas ep. Justice Hole.
But there is also some retroscripting. As Mad Hatter pointed out at the CC board recently, Adam West was very mad when he saw the completed Batmantis because he thought that it was a straight interview. The poor sucker didn't know what he was in for. Watching last night, I really noticed how they just insulted West through the whole thing. If you don't have a sense of humor, that stuff is gonna hurt.
Oh yeah, I had forgotten how much they skewered him when he tried to plug his book! Lord, that was funny.

You read it... you can't un-read it!
I am sure creativity like that doesn't come from taking drugs! Personally, I can come up with some pretty twisted stuff and off the wall stuff with out ANY substances entering my body! Sometimes, just a lack of sleep can help!Originally posted by JustJack

and not all of it is the writers. a lot is the voice actors also, how they deliever something almost always determines weather its funny or not.

They proved this in the "Table Read" episode. It was a nice look into how the cartoons are voiced.Originally posted by joker

The pauses are one of the funniest elements on that show. Great timing in the delivery.
"This even newer signature is really quite lame."
"LAME!!!!!"
I once tried to write an episode of space ghost many years back before I knew of this fact. I actualy sent it to Williams street and they sent me back a SG comic book, a few sketches of Zorak, and the script to the banjo episode (the type was so small it took up two pages and I needed a magnifying glass to read it)
Sadly they said nothing about my episode![]()

"Bloo having chicky tonight! So fingy lickee good!"~ Blooregard Q. Kazoo
"If you want to view paradise, simply look around and view it." ~ Willy Wonka
i seriously think that they are on crack! but the shows pretty funny anyways...
That's pretty cool though! I'd consider writing an episode for them if I thought that I'd get the same neat stuff!Originally posted by DanniB

Maybe they thought that it was a script exchange program. They did send you back the Banjo script in return.![]()
yeah it would be cool to get all that neato stuff...
Or course they sometimes chop the interviews up a bit. Like the scene in 'Banjo' where Schooly D says 'You da man' 3 times. It's pretty obvious that they repeated the sentence 3 times on the tpae.
Formerly known as BillyH.
I'll tell you what they're on:
~~WASSAIL~~
yes, that's right, sweet, sweet wassail! Strong enough for a god, yet gentle and smooth enough for a man! The chicks will dig you! The ducks will honor your name with statues made entirely of whatever ducks make statues out of! Various other birds will adore you in their own special way! Yes, with flavors such as Cobra cooler, Pufferfish punch and Black-widow brew, you're sure to be the hit of your small, socially drinking ring of fame, or die in the rapid ascent and tilting, dizzy, moving rooms! Or there's good ol fashioned plain, and turpentine flavor, too!* Or wassail Jr. if you can't the bite that comes with the smooth, full-bodied, toxic taste! WaSsaAail......is.....good........must....Not...dRi...HosPiT *whunk*
*Turpentine flavor no longer available except in mississipi and south carolina
They must be drinking Awesome Juice.
wassail isn't 'awesome juice'
It's Advanced awesome juice. Deliciousity squared. As someone who is kept under control by the sweet beverage, endless supply of 'Wassail Wear' gear and Ed paraphenalia (Ed is the covergirl for wassail after all) and the nanomachines Bonewerks has placed in my body, I can tell you:
Wassail: It's DAMN good!
