That's really dumb of them, because I could see them getting in big trouble when some parents put the show on for their kids and leave the room for a while. That's really not stuff that you'd want kids to see.
I was at tvguide.com, checking out tonights lineup. And, just for the heck of it, I looked at Cartoon Network, during Adult Swim, & it listed the shows on it. Curious, I clicked on sealab 2021, & read the show description. It simply said "revised version of the classic 2020 show" Then, it was labled as a Childrens Animation Program. WTF?!?!! They cus, show half nekkid people, and have orgy's on that show!! Grrr. Makes me so mad that TV Guide itself cant even check its own programming! It said the same thing about all the other programs. Well..except for Cowboy Bebop, which respectively got its "Action Adventure" title. Was also described as having intense violence, language, & sexual situations. I think the rest of the shows should get the same respect as Cowboy Bebop...but, oh well.
Will cartoons PLEASE get the ratings they deserve?! They arent for children anymore! "Childrens programing" & "Animation" should NOT be put in the same catagory.
Hmmm..Maybe Cartoon Network should show Ninja Scroll, uncut, at 8:00 in the evening? Anyone who watches that will finally learn their lesson! ^_^

TV Guide is really only a sketchy guide for what shows are on the air. They really don't have much time to check the programming, so they have to assume. Still, a block that's dubbed "Adult Swim" should be as clear as crystal...
Duh.
yup, I'm going to get some popcorn kick back and wait for the angry parents to come in.
Here's an even better one.
On my DirecTV sattelite it says that Sealab 2021 is a "Drama". LOL, I guess that whole episode about Sealboy was dramatic.... Lol....
Well, these days, people here in America seem to think that all cartoons are for children, and if they aren't, the companies make them that way. But I don't know. My 6 year old niece watches Adult Swim! She doesn't live with me, so I have no control over what she watches on Sunday/Thursday nights. All I can tell her (and I do tell her) is that she shouldn't be watching that stuff and that her mother shouldn't let her. She doesn't watch it every week (to my knowledge), but I've learned that her favorite show is The Brak Show. She often tries to imitate Brak's voice, but to no avail. It's a hoot. You guys shouyld hear it. She tries so hard. lol. But getting back on topic, the shows aren't getting accurate ratings, which bring ignorant parents and guardians to believe those shows are ok, even though they never watch a moinute of it. TV Guide......for shame...ok, I'm done.YAY!
I hate myself and I want to die.
You WOULD think that. But still, CN has been getting calls about the Adult Swim programming. Uhm....ADULT swim......right.Originally posted by Leaping Larry Jojo

Waitaminutenow....
Kids are up late enough to watch Adult Swim??? A 6 year old up past 8 pm? And the parents are yelling about cartoons? Maybe they should get their kids to sleep.
I remember when I was in grade school having a bedtime of 9 pm until like 5th, maybe even 6th grade. Younger kids just shouldn't be up that late. Period. There should be no way that some of these kids are watching Adult Swim, unless they've somehow mastered the VCR (a feat that even most adults can't master) and tape AS and watch it while Pokemon's supposed to be on.
TiVo has Sea Lab 2021 listed as "Animation, Fantasy", so at least they've got some brains. Sadly TiVo wasn't smart enough to record Adult Swim for some reason this week though, but it did get Sea Lab as a suggestion, thankfully.

I remember once i saw Power Rangers listed as Teenagers in my TVGuide. I'm pretty sure the costume seams and stunt wires start becoming visable by the time puberty hits. And that's not to mention the plot holes![]()
Yep, I don't remember a single edit in that episode.
And the older regulars around here have frequently lamented the fact that most US folks automatically assume all animation is for children without even bothering to consider the content. And, near as I can tell, it's only a US thing. Sigh...

You read it... you can't un-read it!
Yup which is why some show have a hard time getting aired in the US. The US is pretty oppressive when it comes to cartoons. Red Wall only got picked up by PBS, other networds won't touch it since it deals with some mature things like slavery, death, war and elders being wrong. Watership down isn't aired by anyone in the states at all and it has pretty decent ratings. Alot of european childrens cartoons have death in them. Maybe all these censors should take a look at other countries and maybe set up a serious study on what the effects of censorship on children really is.Originally posted by The Mad Hatter
