It means confining a dog to a crate (not a wood crate, mind you. One of those Petsmart crate with the mesh door).

    house training

Crating is a method or tool for house training a dog. A crate is, quite simply, a small metal or plastic cage. It's usually a bit bigger than those pet carriers you sometimes see people use to transport a cat/dog to the vet or on an airplane. A dog views the crate as a den, a safe cozy place he can stay and sleep. Dogs don't like soiling where they sleep. A house is a very big place to a dog, but the den is his bed. If he's confined to his den, he won't usually soil it. Overnight or when you can't watch the dog, you put him in his crate. Then in the morning you take him out. Eventually the dog learns to go outside.

    Another line

I have one that I didn't get - maybe someone could help me out. In "Peter Griffin - Husband, Father, Brother?", when Peter takes Chris to the library, he says that the library is place where bums can shower and "go BM". What does "go BM" mean?

Another common line that a lot of people don't get is in "Stuck Together, Torn Apart", Stewie says "It rubs the lotion on the skin, or else it gets the hose again". That's a DIRECT quote to Silence of the Lambs.
"Michael Ian Black loves Motor Scooters"

"In his entire term as President of the Residence board, Bob Feldman has NEVER stated his opinion on motor scooters....NEVER STATED HIS OPINION ON MOTOR SCOOTERS!?!?!?!"-Stella

Maybe they were hoping the Vet would botch the surgery.
