The Quills Literary Foundation has named their 2005 Quill Award nominees. James B. Stewart’s DisneyWar was nominated in the “Business” category, Fantagraphics’ Complete Peanuts 1953-1954 was nominated in the “Humor” category, and Marvel Comics’ 1602 by Neil Gaiman, Andy Kubert, and Richard Isanove was nominated in the “Graphic Novel” category.

VIZ Media Announces "Zatch Bell" Manga and Anime Releases

VIZ Media has announced scheduling information for the first Zatch Bell manga and home-video anime releases. The first two volumes of Zatch Bell manga will be released in August for $9.99 each. The first volume of anime will debut on November 4, featuring 4 episodes for $19.98.

Greg Pak Lands on "Battlestar Galactica" Comic

Writer and filmmaker Greg Pak (Warlock, X-Men: Phoenix – Endsong) has been tapped by Dynamite Entertainment to write a new, ongoing monthly comic based on Battlestar Galactica, the new Sci-Fi Channel series. The comic is currently scheduled to launch in the fourth quarter of 2005.
