E32013: Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Gets Hollywood Treatment

by on June 12, 2013

The latest trend to make feature films out of video games just added another project to the roster as it was announced at the Electronic Entertainment Expo [E3] in Los Angeles that Ubisoft and Warner Bros would team up with Transformers franchise director Michael Bay to bring “Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon” video game series to the big screen.

The Ghost Recon series follows the exploits of a special unit of soldiers who act as the private army of the President of the USA and essentially battle terrorists and other national security threats using advanced weaponry not typically available to the regular armed forces.

Bay – who is currently working on the “Transformers 4” feature film – will develop and may direct the film which is expected to have either a late 2015 or an early 2016 release.

The Electronic Entertainment Expo is held at the Convention Center in Los Angeles and continues on June 12-13, 2013.
