The Pokémon Company International has announced that Pokémon X and Pokémon Y will launch on Saturday, October 12, 2013 for the Nintendo 3DS.
Sylveon, a fairy-type Pokémon and two additional Pokémon, Noivern and Vivillon, have been revealed as new additions to the game. According to the Pokémon Company, the Fairy-type Sylveon is an Intertwining Pokémon that can manipulate its ribbonlike feelers at will and can emit aura that can calm both people and other Pokémon. Sylveon can learn Moonblast which calls on the power of the moon to attack an its opponent.
Bug- and Flying-type Pokémon Vivillon is the third new addition to the game. Vivillon can learn Struggle Bug, a Bug-type move that lowers the Special Attack of any opposing Pokémon it hits, so the move not only causes damage but also reduces the damage inflicted on Vivillon from certain moves during battle.
The Sound Wave Pokémon Noivern is a Flying- and Dragon-type Pokémon that is extremely combative and will attack anything that wanders too close to it. Its Normal-type move Boomburst emits an explosive sound wave that attacks all surrounding Pokémon but also strikes nearby allies.
Pokémon X and Pokémon Y will allow players to interact with their Pokémon in a new way in Pokémon-Amie, which utilizes the Nintendo 3DS system’s Touch Screen. Playing and interacting with Pokémon that are in your team by using the Nintendo 3DS system’s Touch Screen will build a stronger bond with them. Building this special bond will help in future battles.
