E3 2017: Dragon Ball Z FighterZ Announced

by on June 11, 2017

A new Dragon Ball Z game was revealed during today’s Microsoft press conference at E3. Bandai has enlisted Arc System Works to create their next Toriyama Land brawler, Dragon Ball Z FighterZ. It’s a 2D fighting game that uses 3D models and three-on-three character matches. Arc did an impressive job recreating all the flashy energy effects of a DBZ episode in polygonal space.

“The Dragon Ball franchise is tailor suited for the fighting game genre, and Dragon Ball FighterZ will be the next exciting addition to a long history of great fighting games,” said Eric Hartness, Vice President of Marketing at BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc. “Arc System Works brings a pedigree and record of quality that fighting game fans can trust; with awesome visuals players might mistake as actual 2D animation from the famed Dragon Ball series.”

Dragon Ball Z FighterZ starts leaping onto Playstation 4, XBox One and PC in early 2018. If you’d like to start fighting sooner, there will be a closed beta for FighterZ later this summer. Bandai will be sharing the details and exact date of that beta test soon.

I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS!!! Not only does this remind me of the Budokai/Budokai Tenkaichi series, Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite and etc, but the animation is also phenomenal! Dragon Ball Super, Xenoverse 3 and FighterZ is gonna make these next years for Dragon Ball very entertaining!

So far our main 6 characters in the gameplay and demos are Goku, Vegeta, Gohan (Cell Games outfit), Perfect Cell, Fat Majin Buu, and final form Frieza. I'm hoping that we get OG characters, Super characters, and GT characters.

Once again, I really can't wait for this release!
