Dumbo Arrives at Smithsonian Museum

by on June 10, 2005

In a ceremony on Thursday at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History in Washington D.C., The Walt Disney Company donated several objects to the museum in commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of Disneyland in California. Among the donated items were vehicles from two of the park’s opening year (1955) attractions: “Dumbo the Flying Elephant” and the “Mad Tea Party.” Both vehicles will be on display at the museum through Labor Day.
