Variety reports that Brenda Freeman has been named head of marketing for DreamWorks Animation Television. Freeman is an industry veteran, moving to the new position from her current one as chief marketing officer of Turner Animation and Cartoon Network. Prior to that position, Freeman was senior VP of integrated marketing and promotions for the Nickelodeon and MTVN Kids and Family Group. DreamWorks’ television division is in the process of producing more than 1,100 episodes of original programming for Netflix, Germany’s Super RTL and Planeta Junior in Italy and Spain over the next five years, largely based on DreamWorks Animation’s feature films as well as properties acquired from the Classic Media library.
