DreamWorks Animation has a slew of new animated films coming out in the next few years and they will all be slated to be made with their new animation software called Apollo, which made its debut with this year’s “How To Train Your Dragon 2” sequel film. The software, in development over the past five years, gives animators for films more immediate results in designing characters and allows for more intricate designs as well as ease-of-flow with pull-down menus replaced by a stylus and tablet. The new software also includes Premo animating tool and the Torch lighting package.
The new Apollo animation software will be the topic of a DreamWorks presentation at the CG convention, Siggraph, in Vancouver on August 10, 2014.
