"Dragonball Z" Escapes the "Dead Zone"

by on July 14, 2005

This is a review of the 1997 Pioneer Video DVD release, which is now out of print but available used, for purposes of comparison with the FUNimation new release.

Ah, Dragonball Z movies. Many people are amazed when a franchise goes beyond four films, but the DBZ franchise produced over a dozen before the series ended, which is utterly amazing. And it all started with this movie, which didn’t even have a real title when it first aired in Japan. As one of the last relics of the Saban era of the series, this DVD is a digital treasure.
