Curious when the highly anticipated Dragon Ball FighterZ game will be released? As of today, we now know when….and more. How can you gain access to the open beta?
Dragon Ball FighterZ, first shown off at E3 last June, will arrive on PS4, XBox One and PC January 26, 2018. There will also be a character pass released on that day, the FighterZ Pass, that adds eight additional fighters as DLC. These fighters will be released post-launch at regular price, but buying them with the game gives you a discount.
And yes, there will be an open beta, so some players will get to control Goku’s fists before the official release date. However, you’re going to have to make a choice on this one. Beta access will be granted to those who preorder the digital version — but just the digital version. If you do that, you’ll have to give up the physical Collector’s Edition with the Goku statue and the downloadable Super Saiyan Blue DLC. You can’t have it both ways unless you’re filthy rich and you don’t mind owning two copies or getting milked by a big corporation.
Not that the digital version doesn’t have bonuses of its own. In addition to beta access, the Ultimate Edition gets you the FighterZ Pass, an anime music pack containing 11 songs from the DRAGON BALL anime, and a commentator voice pack. Whether this is better or not than a statue is up to you. Can’t have everything.
Pre-ordering either version gets you early access to SSGSS Goku and SSGSS Vegeta, two exclusive lobby avatars, and a Girls Stamp Pack that consists of Android 21, Android 18, and Bulma. Dragon Ball FighterZ comes to our Earth January 26.
