Disney Schedules Aladdin-Fest This Weekend For Robin Williams Tribute

by on August 14, 2014

As a tribute to the recently deceased actor-comedian Robin Williams, Disney has announced they will schedule four showings of his signature movie for them – 1992’s “Aladdin” where Williams provided the voice and personality of the Genie – on three of their network channels. Williams famously agreed to voice the Genie character with a handshake agreement that his voice and image not be used to sell products, but Disney reneged on that agreement and Williams vowed never to work for them again.

“Aladdin” will air at 9AM and 6:30PM on August 16 on the Disney Channel, 11AM and 7:30PM on August 17 on Disney XD and at 6PM on August 17 and 11AM on August 18 on Disney Junior.
