Disney has slowly been eliminating its Radio Disney radio station empire over the years – getting rid of five stations in 2010 and another seven stations last year – until they finally had only 24 stations left operating in the country. As the company shifts to digital distribution, Disney will sell 23 of those 24 stations and keep the lone remaining station – KDIS in Los Angeles – to use as a production studio for audio content. Stations in Canada, Latin America and Russia will not be affected – at this time – by the sell-off.
Radio Disney intends to begin selling off the 23 stations on September 26, 2014.
