by on August 23, 2017

Lionsgate has provided Toonzone with an exclusive clip from Deep, a new animated feature film coming to theaters and On-Demand services on August 25, 2017. The voice cast includes Justin Felbinger, Stephen Ezra Hughes, Lindsey Alena, Elisabeth Catherine Gray, Anna Vocino, and Dwight Schultz.

OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS: When a playful octopus named Deep gets his undersea fish colony in trouble, the tribe’s stern leader Kraken orders Deep to go find help. Joined by his splashy BFF’s—a sassy shrimp and a silly anglerfish—Deep takes an epic, colorful journey through submerged cities and sunken ships, where they meet outrageous creatures that help the trio on its way. Throughout the adventure, Deep and his buddies laugh, sing, and bond with one another, proving that friendship can be a very “deep” subject.

Ayeyeye! How many clones/copies of Finding Nemo (and its sequel, Finding Dory) are we going to have to see?!? Keep in mind also that this animated movie was made by a documentary filmaker, and it has the infamous Grindstone Entertainment Group slapped all over it!

Also, the film's title sounds like a horror movie (of course the title IS referring to the main character, an octopus) and the fact that this movie is being released in select theaters and on demand, coupled with the fact that it hasn't been advertised on TV channels like Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, and Disney XD! I wonder how it's box office will do?

The only good thing with "Deep" is that it's set in a future where humanity has left Earth (let's hope it doesn't steal elements from WALL-E, especially with the humans leaving Earth by spaceship!).
