Davy Jones 1945-2012

The Hollywood Reporter has reporter that actor and singer Davy Jones passed away earlier today from a heart attack at Martin Memorial Medical Center in Stuart, Florida at the age of 66. Jones was best known for his work on the 60s TV series The Monkees along with Peter Tork, Mike Nesmith, and Micky Dolenz. The group had three number 1 hits with “Last Train to Clarksville”, “I’m a Believer”, and “Daydream Believer.” After The Monkees was cancelled, Jones guest starred on several TV shows including Love, American Style, Boy Meets World, and The Brady Bunch.

Jones also voiced as himself on an episode of The New Scooby-Doo Movies as well as an episode of Spongebob Squarepants. He also voiced Jim Hawkins in the animated movie version of Treasure Island and as The Artful Dodger in the animated movie version of Oliver Twist. His last voiceover role was as Nigel in an episode of Phineas & Ferb.

Jones was survived by his wife, actress Jessica Pachero and his four daughters from 2 previous marriages.
