ADV Lays Off Staff in Manga and Anime Divisions

A report in Publishers Weekly states that ADV has laid off as many as 40 employees, with perhaps 25 coming from the manga side of the company. The company confirmed the layoffs without stating specific figures, and claimed market saturation and more discerning customers leading to new challenges in selling their product.
