A press release from Universal Press Syndicate states that Bill Watterston has placed more than 3,000 original Calvin and Hobbes comic strips on long-term loan to Ohio State University’s Cartoon Research Library. Comicon’s The Beat reports that Slave Labor Graphics will produce a new comic series based on the classic Disney animated series Gargoyles, written by creator Greg Weisman. The publisher has signed a licensing deal with Disney to publish comics based on the cartoon, as well as on The Haunted Mansion, Wonderland, and Tron.
