"Snake Eyes: Declassified" #1 Preview

G.I. Joe’s favorite ninja commando will get his definitive origin story in Snake Eyes: Classified from Devil’s Due. Newsarama.com has just posted a 5-page preview of issue #1, which is due in comic book stores next Wednesday.

"Ducktales," "Rescue Rangers" Go to DVD

Walt Disney will release three-disc sets of Ducktales and Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers to DVD on November 8, TV Shows on DVD reports. Each set will retail for $34.99.

Murray Negotiating for "Garfield" Sequel

Bill Murray is in negotiations to return as the voice of Garfield in Garfield 2, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Breckin Meyer, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Lucy Davis and Billy Connolly have already signed onto the sequel, which is scheduled for a summer 2006 release.

Anime Sales Fall in Japan

The Japan External Trade Organization says that anime market sales in Japan fell 10.4% to 191.2 billion yen in 2003 from a 2002 high, AWN reports. Box office revenues for anime features fell 53% between 2001 and 2003, and sales of anime DVDs fell 5.5% between 2003 and 2004.

Studios Working with Colleges to Train Animators

Walt Disney, DreamWorks Animation, and Pixar are collaborating with colleges and univesities to train the next generation of animators, USA Today reports. The studios are creating educational programs to ensure that students and animators already in their employ are trained in the CG techniques that are currently in high demand.
