Electronic Arts Acquires "Simpsons" Gaming Rights

Electronic Arts, Twentieth Century Fox Television, and Gracie Films have announced a long-term agreement that grants Electronic Arts development rights to multiple videogame titles based on the FOX series The Simpsons. Pixar Founder Receives Award

Visual Effects Society has chosen Pixar founder John Lasseter as its recipient of the 2005 Georges Melies Award for Artistic Excellence, AWN reports. Lasseter oversees all of the studio’s films and associated projects and is currently directing the studio’s next feature film, Cars.

Warner Bros. Announces Layoffs

Faced with a revenue slowdown and budget tightening, Warner Bros. Ent. plans to layoff 400 employees companywide in Burbank, AWN reports, citing Variety. All four of the studio’s divisions will be affected.

"Flyaway" Receives Bethel Film Festival Award
