Five Selected for Cartoon Forum Competition

Cartoon Forum has selected five short films to compete for the The Fifteenth Cartoon d’Or Award, AWN reports. Competitors include “City Paradise,” “Falling,” “Flatlife,” ” Jo Jo in the Stars,” and “Little Things.” The award will be given on September 24, 2005.

"Fantastic 4" Goes Mobile

Adult Toons Draw Kid Audiences

Adult-themed cartoons are also doing well with teen and kid audiences, USA Today reports. Nearly ten percent of the audience for Fox’s Family Guy, for instance, is between the ages of 2 and 11, and Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim bloc was the number five network among the same ages last spring.

BBC Wants More Toon Co-Productions

The BBC’s board of governors wants the network’s CBeebies channel to invest in more animation co-productions, c21 Media reports. The board believes that the network needs more overseas-produced toons.
