Calhoun07, aka Jeff Stoneking, has varying interests that he
draws from to help in assisting at the Toon Zone boards.
Animation, of course, is his passion, and he embraces all
different kinds of animation. In addition to animation, Jeff
also creates and writes and draws his own series of mini
comics, but when he's not working on those he also records
experimental electronic music under the name Thelonious
Octopus. And when he is not doing that, he finds time to
work a full time job and also puts in some time at a second
job.

Self-proclaimed "Corrupt
Dictator Extraordinaire" - Mark, aka CC-sama, is
what you would call your typical fan of Japanese animation.
Of course, your typical Japanese anime fan isn’t an
employee of the largest distributor of Japanese animation
in North America. When he's not busy promoting one of
ADV Films’ latest titles, CC-sama freelances on the
side as a magazine editor down in Hollywood, where his
inane babble on the latest in Japanese animated films
and series reaches an audience of nearly 70,000 readers
around the world. When not plotting new methods to conquer
the Anime industry, you can usually find him moonlighting
on Toon Zone’s Toonami forum.

The Drawing Board |
Frozen, AKA Mathew David
Spaull, is a young (ish) illustrator hailing from the cold
and rainy shores of the United Kingdom. A concept artist/
illustrator for a computer games studio in England producing
games for 'next generation' consoles, Mathew also has years
of experience in film, TV, and magazine illustration.
As well as being an artist,
Mathew is an avid motorsports fan, citing F1, CART, and WRC
racing as his favourite series'. He collects toys (mainly GI
Joe 3 ¾"and Dragon dolls), CDs (his favourites being
Peter Gabriel, Yello, Sarah McLachlan and Tom Waits), and
DVDs with a religious fervour.
His main passion, however, is
comics and animation. Hypnotised by cartoons from an early
age by such classics as Battle of the Planets, Jamie and the
Magic Torch, Danger Mouse, and Ulysses 31, Mathew grew to
have a deep appreciation and admiration for animation - his
favourites being Batman: The Animated Series, The Iron
Giant, The Dark Crystal, and Akira.
Having started to collect
comics at eleven years of age with reprints of Steranko's
classic 'Nick Fury' work, he has gone on to both write and
draw his own small press comics, as well as manage a comic
shop until landing his job in full-time illustration. His
favourite characters are, without a doubt, Nick Fury, the
Black Widow, the ABC Warriors, Batman, and Judge Dredd, and
his favourite luminaries include, amongst others, Alan
Moore, Steranko, Brian Bolland, Colin Wilson, and Tim Levins.
His idol though is the much-missed Mike Parobeck, who Mathew
maintains as having a 'fundamental' impact on his work as an
illustrator. |
