Summary: Three girls head to Metropolis to find their mom a husband.
Their pics? Superman, Luthor, or Clark Kent.
Description: Three girls arrive in Metropolis to find their mom a
husband. Aided with only a magazine that lists these eligible bachelors, they
begin their search. They look at the page that their mom bookmarked, which
features Clark and a firemen. Instinctively, the head to the Daily Planet. They
attempt to meet Clark but he vanishes after the building (and city) is plagued
with blackouts. They quickly give up on that idea and go for the next choice,
Luthor.
They head to Lexcorp and are able to reach his office, where they are
stopped by Mercy at the door. They attempt to get in, but Mercy shows them off.
Inside the office, it turns out that Lex is responsible for the blackouts.
Superman approaches him through the window and tells him that he better not
be responsible, then flies off to stop the experiments which are causing the
problems. Lex gets on the phone quickly and warns the men working on the project
to abort and get out as soon as possible.
The girls are stumped, then figure they can get Superman to
marry their mom.
They see him fly into the subway and following him. They get pushed onto an out
of control train which Superman is able to stop. The firemen show up and begin
to handle the situation. Their mother shows up on the scene and watches as a
firemen brings them up the subway stairs -- the exact same fireman who was on
the same page as Clark Kent in the magazine. The two hit it off. As usual, a
happy ending.
Review: This was a good issue, although it was a bit too
"cutesy". Flashbacks of Full House kept playing in my head as I
watched this. The story, by relative unknown Jeff Grubb, was good. A bit heavy
on the cute, but good nonetheless. Almancio's art was pure gold as usual. Great
art, especially good this issue. His Clark looked dead on perfect. Overall, a
good, fun read.
