Summary: A
new villain named MasterTrax has been pulling odd crimes with no patterns. Can
Superman figure out the pattern -- if there is one?
Description:
*Sigh* Where to begin? Okay... The story starts
with a news reporter filling us in on the crimes of MasterTrax, new armored
criminal in Metropolis. The info quickly bring the reader up to speed on
MasterTrax, informing us that he has been committing random crimes around the
city, with Superman trailing behind, unable to get him. We see Superman swooping
to rescue someone who has been thrown out of a window, supposedly by MasterTrax.
Superman saves him and flies inside the building him inside in search of
MasterTrax. 'Trax ain't there because as the battle ensues, the crook is off
robbing a shoe store. Superman shows up at the shoe store after MasterTrax
leaves, just in time to be told that MasterTrax has vanished again. Darn.
After talking with Jimmy, Clark Kent guesses that
MasterTrax must be randomizing his crimes so there's no pattern or clues.
Superman discusses the theory with Professor Hamilton while trying to help him
with some of his experiments. The Professor gives Superman a random tracking
device, since he has been unable to find an energy signature to trace. Gee,
Hamiliton must have a lot of those just hanging around.
By process of elimination, Superman is able to
track down which of the machines in the city is the armor for MasterTrax. When
MasterTrax teleports, Superman locks the signal, and tracks him to a warehouse
full the things that MasterTrax has stolen. It appears the crimes were random because
MasterTrax's identity was never the same kid. Yup. 'Kid'. The kids all had
different ideas and wanted to steal other things. Wow. What a zinger.
Review: So
is Jimmy, like, in the hood? It seems he is. This issue was just awful. The
reason it gets a '1.5' and no lower (or higher) is becuase there is some
redeeming qualities, like the pretty cool cover. The rest is just bad. The art.
The story. All of it. Blech! Skip this trash!
